Bordeaux Médoc Region Private Wine Lovers Tour with Chateau Visits & Tastings

Description
Visit and wine tasting at three châteaux in the famous villages of Margaux, St Julien, Pauillac or St Estephe. This is the land of the grand impressive châteaux and we will visit three and pass infront of the most famous such as Lafite Rothschild, Margaux and Latour. The terroir changes as we go up this rather flat landscape which forms a peninsular between the large Gironde Estuary and the Atlantic sea to the left. Increasing number of large gravel stones make the wine more fullbodied. We will taste the difference between a Margaux and a Pauillac or St Julien and some older ones. With thirty years of experience I will be able to impart my stories and experiences while we travel and visit. If there is one unique region to visit, this is it! I will include a smaller family property to show the difference and get closer to the winemaker. We will normally taste the difference between a Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and then taste them blended together to understand the magic of Bordeaux! .

Nicolle was an incredibly knowledgeable and engaging tour guide of the Médoc region. She provided an itinerary and options based on initial input from me and what my husband and I were looking for in a tour, and then we were able to refine that. She was very easy to work with. The 3 wineries we visited were family-owned and somewhat smaller (which is what we wanted), and the hosts welcoming us at all 3 were lovely. Nicolle did a great job of ensuring that at each tour/tasting we learned or tried something different.
That is wonderful to get your feedback! We do make a lot of effort in putting together a day that is exactly what you are looking for in a wine tour. We love the SIPs - the small independent wine producers that are still family owned. Glad to hear you do too!
Nicolle provided us an incredible experience in the Medoc. It was a magical day that she provided for us. I selected her based on her profile and her experience with wine in addition to the fact that this was the area we wanted to tour. And I am so glad I did because she is excellent. This is an all day experience. We visited three chateaus. At the first two we had tours and tasted. At the third, we had lunch and a tasting. Our last stop was at a very small family producer where we toured the facility and tasted. All the wines we tasted were gorgeous and we ended up shipping home 4 cases. Nicolle is not only a lovely person who is very organized, she has an incredible wealth of knowledge of the region, of the history of the region, and of wines. Bill and I love wine but are mere amateurs. We learned so much from Nicolle and had a truly memorable day. This may cost a bit more than some other offers but I highly recommend her as your tour guide for the Medoc as the day is so much more extensive and provides a personal opportunity to learn and enjoy.
Incredible experience and a wonderful day of wine. Nicolle is truly an amazing guide and extremely knowledgeable of the history and wineries throughout the Bordeaux region. Highly recommend her tour!
Aurélien was an amazing guide. He is very kind, patient, and knowledgeable, and told us much about the wine creation process and French culture. Highly recommend this tour!
Thank you Gabrielle. Aurelien is great and passionate about wine! - he was a wine merchant so understands the inner workings of this secret wine world. Come back soon!
This was simply the best wine tasting tour/experience!! From Nicolle customizing the tasting for our preferences and food allergies to Emmanuelle’s sharing her knowledge of the region, wines and history - excellent. And the lunch at Haut-Bages was amazing. Best meal of the trip. Would recommend booking and will be back! Thank you for taking care of my family and giving us one of the best experiences. We are grateful.
Thank you Mark - we do pay a lot of attention to detail and it pays off on the day with a memorable wine tour - come back soon!
We very much enjoyed our private tour to the Medoc region. Our guide, Gosia, was a great teacher, answered all our questions, and was loads of fun. Our first stop was at an amazing 1855 classified, 2nd growth chateau. Here we received a tour of the whole operation from the vines to bottling. We learned about different barrels and how they are marked and used. We tasted three of their delicious wines. After lunch, we visited an 1855 classified, 4th growth chateau for another great tasting and discussion of their wines. We also visited an independently owned winery where we had a very interesting tasting. For the same vintage, we tasted single varietal wines of the three grapes they grow, and then we tasted the blend they produced that same year. It was extremely interesting tasting the blend – we could taste the improvement and also identify some of the flavors in the blend from the individual varieties. This was a great day. We highly recommend Bordeaux Medoc Region Private Wine Lovers Tour with Chateau Visits & Tastings by Bordeaux SIP Wine Tours.
Loved our guide as she was very knowledgeable about the wines, the process, and the various vineyards.
Wonderful wineries and Nicole was great! She has extensive knowledge of wine and the region, well worth it!
We have been drinking wine for forty years but most have been from California and other states on the west coast. We have long deferred learning about French wines but have been curious to learn more for some time. We splurged for an all-day tour of three Médoc wineries with Nicolle Croft. We were very glad that we did. Nicolle specializes in finding, as the name says, small independent producers of excellent and reasonably priced wines. We were delighted to try them and brought some home. She's extremely knowledgeable about the wines of France and their makers. When we return we will book another tour with her.
A couple days after St Emilion with Nicolle, we had Emanuele show us the Medoc. Great knowledge and service skills, fun tastings and an amazing lunch! We're so thankful she could drop us off way down in Cadillac.
