A good introduction to the rich history and beauty if Bordeaux. Fabien had done a great job in this three hours walk, giving us tip bits on where to spend more time at later on along with quality restaurant recommendations.
Dear client, Thank you very much for visiting us in Bordeaux and thank you for your excellent comment! We are delighted that our guide Fabien met your expectations. Sincerely, Bordeaux A la française team
A combination of seeing key monuments and hearing the history of Bordeaux, and enjoying a nice sample of key foods in the area including Canales, Charcutier, Cheeses and Wine! Tour leader was very knowledgeable, personable and enjoyed his role. It poured rain on us, but we still managed to have a great time
Thank you for your excellent comment! We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the A la Française experience. Do not hesitate to contact us the next time you come to France, to visit Bordeaux again or another "A la Française" region: Provence, Loire Valley, Champagne. Sincerely, Bordeaux A la française team
Just completed (Tuesday 20th June 9:30am) the Bordeaux Historic and Gourmet Food Walking Tour with Isabella. We expected at the end of the tour to receive a wine glass and complete the tour in thier apartment to "enjoy all the specialities you gathered" "accompanied by a glass of wine". This did not occur and when we queries Isabella she stated only three food stops were included.
What I think about this tour is the history of Bordeaux was amazing. She told us about everything and anything you would need to know. They did not give a lot of food but we we had was wonderful. What she did tell you is where you can get the best chocolates, best duck dinner, and so on. We did enjoy ourselves and she did it both French and English
If you are looking for a food tour this is not it. We came hungry/didn’t eat breakfast because most food tours feed you until you can’t breath. It wasn’t the case for this tour. We had 1 canale (tiny cake), 2 pieces of chocolate, and a few pieces of Spanish iberco ham. Why we had Spanish ham on a french tour is very confusing. More of a history tour with a snack or two
Dear Stefani, Thank you for your comment. Our Gourmet Tour is an historic and food tour in Bordeaux, designed around the gastronomic culture of Bordeaux and South West of France. We take note about your comment on the quantity and will return on our suppliers about the prestation we agreed. About the Spanish ham, we have in South West a strong connection with Spannish culture and gastronomy, we share strong similarities, and that is why you can find Spannish ham among others specialities. Best regards, Team A la Française
Was able to see a lot of Bourdeaux in half a day. These included several neighborhoods, old city gates and monuments. The tour guide was new to the job and rushed us too much. She did not have us introduce ourselves. The stops for canele, sausage, chocolate and coffee were good.
Dear Lisa_N, Thank you for your comments, all reviews are important to us. Sincerely, Bordeaux Team
Nice guide but this most certainly was not a gourmet food tour by any standards. Please do not offer this again. Ask anyone what a gourmet good tour is. You visit and eat at the facilities. If this cannot be arranged and paid for your company then don’t do it and stop fooling peopke
Theo was a terrific guide. We thoroughly enjoyed spending time with him and seeing Bordeaux through his eyes! Theo was awesome!
Our guide was excellent and knowledgeable of Bordeaux and its history. We toured the city and picked up local breads, cheeses and meats along the way, meeting and engaging with the shopkeepers. I would highly recommend this tour.
