Best Of Riga Walking Tour: Old Town

Description
The tour takes you in the travel of time introducing with Riga’s rich historical background. The tour begins from the oldest part of the Old Town - The Convention Yard. Then we go to The Town Hall Square where the statue of the Knight Roland marks the center of the city. As the next comes The Dome Square where it’s possible to see how much the street level has changed during centuries. So we are coming to the vibrant Livonian Square where we have to watch up for a cat on the roof, shepherd and a boy reading a book. The Old Town of Riga has many layers of history but it is contemporary too so is the story – it connects the old and the modern helping to understand history of Latvia and people who lives here. During the tour you will be given tips for good dining and bars, but also I will be glad to answer any question of your curiosity.

Inga, our guide, was very friendly, professional, and informative. A very good way to get acquainted with Riga. Thank you!
Visited Riga in early September 2024. Was pleasantly surprised to have had a one-to-one walking tour with Inga (it made a real positive impression on me that she had committed to the tour, given that a couple of other tours I had booked in the city, and nearby, with other tour providers had cancelled due to low participation numbers). *A very insightful tour from a friendly guide and we also came across a statue of George Armitstead (Mayor of Riga from 1901, who had family connections in my home city of Dundee in Scotland, so what a small world!). :-)
Meeting spot was confusing as Google maps took me round the corner so be careful about that. Tour itself was a good way to see riga old town. Interesting and informative.
We have a nice tour with Inga. She speaks slowly, gives us key to understand the city and the culture. More over she takes time to give us a lot of advice and suggestion. It was easy to undersand her English!
Lovely guide inge ; who took lots of time explaining history etc . Very good value & totally recommend this tour . It lasts almost 2 hours as well
Inga was our tour guide and she was so knowledge and kind! We learned a lot of cool stories about Riga and saw a ton of beautiful architecture. She gave us really good recommendations for what to do for the rest of our trip. I absolutely recommend this for your first day in Riga!
Not very good at all. A little information about history and disbanding the military, but overall did not provide a lot of cultural information. Tour walked around a couple of parks and an old brewery. Guide was boring.
I am very sorry to hear that you had a bad experience here in Riga. However, I think it was a different tour with a different guide. My excursion is in the Old Town area and we do not visit eny parks at all, the brewery is not an object we visit either. I hope that one day you will return to Riga and then maybe I will have the opportunity to create a better experience for you!
Inga was a great guide and well worth booking the tour. Riga old town is a fascinating area and learning about it from a local was very interesting.
Good overview of Tallin. Walked around the entire old town. Inga was very knowledgeable. Lots of uneven cobblestones
