Lorenzo was the best tour guide you could ask for. This excursion was a good mix of walking and riding the bus. Great way to see the areas and learn more about the history. Wish we had a bit longer in Florence to shop and eat, but excellent experience. Would highly recommend this tour.
The tour guides were very informative and kind. We really enjoyed this tour and would highly recommend it.
It should be stated for all travelers to fully understand that it is a 2 hour ride to get there. Then approx 1 mile walk from the drop off point to center city. If you can not walk you will have to lay xtra for a taxi to get you to the meeting point. Then it’s the same issue to head home a mile plus walk and possible taxis. Florence is also expensive for lunch or dining. The trip to Pisa is another hour plus and again with a long walk to see the venues and the long walk back. Most seniors will have a hard time and will exhaust themselves. Last, 1 plus hour to get back to the ship making it a long day.
Thank you for your feedback. That is correct: Florence is located approximately a couple of hours’ drive from the cruise port, and tourist transport is not permitted to enter the historical city centre. For this reason, walking is required during the tour. The same applies to Pisa. Guests with limited walking ability may wish to consider alternative arrangements, such as taxis where available, or private tours offering greater flexibility. Please note that the “Additional Information” section of the tour description clearly states that this tour is not wheelchair accessible and is not recommended for guests with limited walking ability. Regarding dining costs, Florence and Pisa are world-famous destinations visited by millions of guests each season, and prices may vary depending on the location chosen by each guest. Meals are not included in this tour, and guests are free to choose where and whether they wish to dine during their free time. For guests who find dining in Florence and Pisa too expensive or for whom the required walking is not suitable, remaining on board your comfortable cruise ship and enjoying the included dining options may be a better choice. Safe travels!
