Itinerary
At 1:50 pm, our guide English Speaking guide will meet you in front of Lyon Office de Tourisme building located on Bellecour Square (50 m opposite Le Royal Hotel). After a short walk, participants will get on the 8 seaters minivan to begin the wine to the Northern Beaujolais.
Start the journey travelling on the beautiful Beaujolais "Route des Vins" and with your guide learn about the "terroir" (french philosphy for wine) and the different characteristics of the Beaujolais "crus" wines appellations. Pass the Mont Brouilly, a strikingly beautiful dormant volcano covered by secular vineyards.
At 3:15 pm, push the door of a small family winery, meet a passionate wine-maker and learn the different steps of the unique wine making process of Beaujolais called "semi-carbonic" maceration. Then, go to the nicely decorated caveau (wine-tasting room) to enjoy several crus Beaujolais wines from different vintages.
Then, cross Morgon and travel to La Madone Chapel in Fleurie town to enjoy a breathtaking panaroma of the Beaujolais wine region: on clear days, you may have the chance to see the Alps and the Mount Blanc!
Travel again on the Beaujolais wine road, pass Moulin-à-Vent and then reach Chénas town to discover the amazing cellar of a Chateau Wine Estate full of oak barrels. It is time to savor beautiful Crus wines as your guide describe them and tell you about their aromas, balance and complexity ... Just unforgettable!
At 6:30 pm, your guide will drop you off at Lyon Office de Tourism Building, at Bellecour Square. A must do wine tour!

We had a 5 out of 5 experience. Oliver was knowledgeable and a great guide on our tour. We loved it so much we booked another wine tour for the next day.
Nice drive to the countryside to visit 2 wineries. Olivier was very knowledgeable and fun at the same time.

This was truly an amazing tour. Sebastien was an incredible tour guide. We learned so much about the wine making process and sampled so many delicious wines from the Beaujolais region. As an added bonus, driving through the vineyards was beautiful! Highly recommend!

Truly wonderful experience. One of the best parts of trip to Lyon and very memorable. Well worth the money
Thank you very much Jane. My best regards from Lyon, Olivier
We had a great time. Really enjoyed both wineries and Olivier was very knowledgeable. We also stopped for scenic views along the way. There were 8 of us so the van was full. Everyone had a seat but you will get close with your fellow passengers. It was definitely more wineries than castles as a couple were pointed out on the way, but the Wine tour is what I wanted.
Thank you very much Melissa. My best regards, Olivier
Very thoughtful visits to two different wineries and to the vineyards themselves. Excellent cross section of the selected areas in Beaujolais.
Thank you very much for your review. All the best, Olivier
Great tour for half the day! Wonderful to see local wine country. Plenty of tastings and opportunities to purchase additional wines.
Thank you Megan. It was my pleasure to guide you. My best regards, Olivier
Wine was incredibly especially the artisanal vinyard. I want to move there for a picking season. Olivier was the most informative wine guide I have ever met very knowledgeable.
Merci beaucoup Alisia for your feedback. Best, Olivier
Most favorite part of the tour was being able to visit small winierys and the owners actually telling our group the history of their vineyards. Being able to understand the whole process step by step, then being able to sample the wine was very intersting I would highly recommend this tour to visitors for a very pleasant afternoon full of history, excellent wines and meeting very lovely people.
