If you are on a layover transiting through GRU airport (or São Paulo), instead of killing time at the departure lounge, get ready to spend a relaxing day discovering one of the most beautiful beaches in the coast of the state of São Paulo. Spend the day beachfront eating appetizers, fresh seafood, typical cuisine and having delicious caipirinhas. Head out for swims, lounge around on the sand, get a tan and stand-up paddle. We visit the 1547 well-maintained Fort São João that houses a permanent exhibition of ancient weapons, historical artifacts, statues and indigenous huts. After a brief shoreline walk catching sights and culture. Then, change the pace totally taking a boat ride to the delightful secluded Prainha Branca beach 10 min away. The paradisiacal beach is outside the tourist circuit, surrounded by the region's characteristic vegetation, blueish sea, and white sand. It’s certain a destination for those who want to escape the crowds and be relaxing close to nature.

There is no better place to enjoy a sunny day than the pretty secluded beach of Praia Branca, in the beach town of Guarujá, on the island of Santo Amaro. You will love it. Following pick-up at GRU airport or hotel in São Paulo, we drive to the beach town of Bertioga, located 1h40 from São Paulo. Once in Bertioga, we visit the 1547 well-maintained "Fort São João" that houses a permanent exhibition of ancient weapons, historical artifacts, statues, and indigenous huts. In addition to the historical importance, the fort has wonderful views of the Bertioga canal and its shoreline.
After a brief shoreline walk catching sights and culture, we change the pace totally taking a boat ride to the delightful secluded beach of Prainha Branca, in the town of Guarujá, 10 min away. This paradisiacal beach is outside the tourist circuit, surrounded by the region's characteristic vegetation of the Atlantic Forest, blueish sea, and white sand. The perfect place to relax near nature! It’s certain a destination for those who want to escape the crowds and be relaxing close to nature. The local restaurants provide beach umbrellas and chairs for enjoying the beach. Spend the day by the sea swimming, lounging on the sand, sunbathing, practicing stand-up paddle or even eat in a seaside restaurant (not included).
At low tide, the island on the other side of the beach is accessible on foot via a short strip of white sand. At high tide, the shore is immersed in translucent waters, ideal for snorkeling . So what more can you ask for? Ask the guide for the trail to the beautiful nearby Prainha Preta or explore the island just in front of.
After having such an adventurous day, we journey back to São Paulo where the tour started. We’ll engage in a conversation about your interests and our expertise, whether that can be local bioma, or cultural history of the area.

Bertioga is a perfect day trip from São Paulo…the history, backwaters, and the beaches awsome and perfect…the high light is definitely the secluded beach on the island…and more importantly Marinello was an ideal guide and companion especially considering that I was travelling solo…

Breathtaking views on the way to the beach and back! Great options to see the Rainforest, stop at a little Fort (or not if you want more beach time), enjoy a fast ride with a small boat (or walk through the rain forest to get to the beach). The absolute perfect guides!! This was our third tour with GregTur and Danilo was very kind, so well prepared, very knowledgeable and pleasant to be around! The beach is beautiful! Clean. Not crowded. It looks like it’s straight from the movies! We wouldn’t have wanted to miss this tour. Very well organized and a great chance to enjoy typical Brazilian food for lunch in this pretty scenery.
