Bayeux Private Walking Tour With A Professional Guide

Description
Bayeux is a magical town filled with French history. The city miraculously survived the Second World War and is a remarkable example of architectural heritage. Each stop has its beauty, being its half-timber houses, impressive cathedral or town mansions. Admire the Bayeux Cathedral, over 900 years old, a piece of Norman-Romanesque-Gothic architecture. Stroll around the town centre along the banks of river Aure and admire some very nice views, old stone houses and waterwheels.

Our guide was superb. Knowledgeable about Bayeux, its history, and architecture. She was pleasant, friendly, and willing to answer our questions. She took her time walking through the city, pointing out areas of interest. Many of her comments included information that we otherwise would not have known through reading texts or studying the history on our own. As a result, the remainder of our stay in Bayeux was made much more interesting, because of her in-depth knowledge.
Our Guide grew up in Bayeux and the history of the area from the 1500s to the present day. From history to shopping an restaurant suggestions, book this tour!
We're so glad you enjoyed the tour with a guide who grew up in Bayeux and shared such rich history. It's great to hear the mix of history, shopping, and restaurant tips made the experience special. We hope to welcome you on another tour soon!
Our guide was very friendly but the tour itself was very bland and uninteresting. We just walked around town and looked at the cathedral. We were looking for more information about how the town evolved over time, why it was developed here, who lived here and why, etc. It seemed like more of an architectural tour.
We're glad the guide was friendly. Our tours which are private tours can be adjusted on the spot. A quick word with the guide during the tour can help steer it in the direction you prefer.
Estelle gave us the most wonderful tour of Bayeux, giving us andvice and orienting us to delicious places to eat and where certain locals were. We are older and she followed our pace, stopping as we needed.
Thank you for sharing your experience! We're glad Estelle made your time in Bayeux memorable with her thoughtful guidance and local insights. Hope to welcome you again someday!
