The cathedral is the seat of the Archbishop of Bari-Bitonto, dedicated to Saint Sabinus, a bishop of Canosa, whose relics were brought here in the 9th century. Here you will appreciate underground roman walls named Succorpo.
The piazza has always represented the heart of commercial and administrative activities in the city due to the presence of the city market (not currently in this area) and of the palazzo Sedile, which is the historical reference point of Bari city Hall. Today, for the citizens of Bari it is an irreplaceable meeting point.
Piazza Ferrarese has always been one of the access points to the old town which, with its narrow streets, alleys and small openings, extends from Piazza Ferrarese - Piazza Mercantile up to the Normanno -Svevo castle. During recent restoration, which involved not only the square but also the surrounding buildings, a short stretch of the ancient Via Appia – Traiana came to light, built by the Romans in the early second century A.D.
The Norman Swebian Castle hosts the collection of plaster casts and temporary art exhibitions.

We had a nice experience on our Rickshaw tour. It was a nice way to tour the city. We only had a few days in Bari and I felt this tour gave us and good bit of the history of the town. Carlo was our guide and he was excellent. He was very informative and very polite. They are going to renovate the fish market to make it more appealing to tourists. My opinion is leave it be. There is a historical value to the way it is now. After the fisherman sell all there fish it becomes a place were stories are traded and cards are played. I hope the bars continues to operate as it has been there a long time as well. The price was good for the hour and a half tour. I know there are longer tours but this one was just right for us. This tour gives you a broader knowledge of the city.
Interesting ride with the rickshaw through Bari. After this ride, we were able to explore a few things in Bari independently and move around.

the cyclists were very knowledgeable about the sights and history of bari, they spoke perfect english and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience

This rickshaw tour is a fun and easy way to see Bari. Our guide Chiara was knowledgeable about the history and took time to explain each stop. The Nonnas making pasta at the street market were very interesting, and it was an enjoyable morning.
We were fortunate to have Gianfranco as our guide, a talented, prepared, available, and very polite young man born in 2003. The tour was beautiful; we had the opportunity to hear a lot of history and many facts about the area.
