Itinerary
Standing opposite the Vila Olímpica neighbourhood, it was built in 1990 during the redevelopment of this area of Barcelona. The marina was designed by the architects Oriol Bohigas, Josep Martorell, David Mackay and Albert Puigdomènech. The city needed a sports marina which would meet exacting standards, and it was the site of the sailing competitions during the 1992 Olympic Games. The marina has 756 berths for yachts and its entrance is visible from anywhere in Barcelona. The two skyscrapers on either side are the Mapfre Tower and the Hotel Arts, with Frank Gehry's spectacular goldfish sculpture at its base, and nearby, the Gran Casino de Barcelona. Lovers of water sports can go yachting or practise other types of sailing techniques here, and in the summertime, the beaches on either side of the marina – Somorrostro and Nova Icària – are the perfect place for sunbathing or for a cooling dip in the sea.
The Fish sculpture by the architect Frank Gehry, who won the Pritzker Prize in 1989, has become one of the symbols of post-Olympic Barcelona and looks as if it is bobbing along on the waters of the Mediterranean. The sunlight is reflected in the scales of this sculpture that presides over the waterfront of the Olympic Marina and Barcelona's beaches. In 1992, the pristine Olympic Barcelona was transforming its seafront. A new Olympic Marina was taking shape, presided over by its twin towers. On one side stood the Mapfre Tower; on the other was the Hotel Arts. Frank Gehry placed his fish sculpture at the foot of the hotel. The animal is 56 metres long and 35 metres high and seems to be longing to jump into the blue waters of the Mediterranean.
Port Vell, literally in English "Old Harbor" is a waterfront harbor in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, and part of the Port of Barcelona. It was built as part of an urban renewal program prior to the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Before this, it was a run-down area of empty warehouses, railroad yards, and factories. 16 million people visit the complex each year It is now a focal point of the city and tourist attraction, containing the Maremàgnum (a mall containing shops, a multiplex cinema, bars and restaurants), IMAX Port Vell and Europe's largest aquarium containing 8000 fish and 11 sharks contained in 22 basins filled with six million litres (1.6 million US gallons) of seawater. A pedestrian walkway, Rambla de Mar, connects La Rambla to Port Vell It incorporates a swing bridge, in order to allow ships to enter and exit the harbour

We had a lovely sunset cruise with Eduardo as our Captain. Eduardo asked if we would like to do a cruise closer to shore or go out to more open water. He took us out to open water while still giving us a nice Barcelona coastline experience. We enjoyed beautiful weather with a gorgeous sunset over the city. My wife and daughter jumped in the water once we got away from shore and enjoyed a brief swim on the life raft while the boat slowly pulled them along. There was Cava champagne, light snacks like chips, crackers, sausage, and soft drinks and water for our two kids aged 11 and 14. While the tour was only 2 hours long, it seemed like plenty of time on the boat and we had a very relaxing cruise. We were combined with 2 other parties of 3 people (7 total passengers and 1 captain), but there was plenty of room on the boat, and we enjoyed laying down as a family on the bed at the front of the boat. We saw flying fish and even a small pod of dolphins while we were out at sea and coming back to dock. Overall, it was a wonderful experience that I would highly recommend!
Marie was incredible! We have the safest journey and so much fun, so much information about the culture and city and all round the best trip ❤️
Marie was amazing, had a wonderful time, sunset was amazing
Marie was incredible, best skipper ever !!
Beautiful night on the water. Eduardo our captain was wonderful! He went above and beyond the entire time. I cannot recommend him enough!
Truthfully, my experience with this sunset tour began with a rough start but not because of the tour itself. Thunderstorms were forecasted for the duration of our booked trip! However- and I must give full props to the guides/team for this- upon arriving to the meet-up spot, we were offered a full refund for our booking if we did not feel comfortable to get on the boat. Even with the angry-looking clouds above us, my boyfriend and I decided to go forward with the tour, as did the 6 other passengers we were with (another couple and a family). We did not regret our decision! There were a few bouts of strong winds and rains as we pulled out of the dock, but the boat was fitted with a fabric cover that blocked out the worst of it, and our guides were skilled skippers who assured our safety. The guides also allowed passengers to enter the lower level cabin if they felt the need. Needless to say, our excursion was wonderful, especially once the storm passed and clouds parted to reveal brilliant rays of the sunset to come through over the city of Barcelona. We were able to see views of the Christopher Columbus monument, the ferris wheel, and even Sagrada Familia. The ride itself was smooth, and the guides packed more than enough refreshments for all (and were not skimpy with the cava!). We even got to sit on the front deck of the boat for more unobstructed views of the sea and city. The guides (and other passengers) provided great company as well. Overall, a fantastic use of our time and money and I would 100% recommend to all :) P.S. I am even glad for the rain, since we were blessed by a double rainbow shortly after it! P.P.S. Massive thank you to our skippers, whom I unfortunately have forgotten the names of. They were lovely and kind!
The experience was good, but not great in my opinion. We had 4 families on the boat and not enough snacks. There was one bowl of chips, one container of olives, and one dish of crackers. The placement made it difficult to get to, and I also felt it was a little unsanitary because everyone was putting their hands in it, licking their fingers and re-dipping.
From start to finish it was an amazing experience Daniel our skipper was knowledgeable and friendly. We would 100% recommend.
