Enjoy panoramic views of Barcelona and the port
Passeig de Gràcia is Barcelona’s most elegant boulevard, linking Plaça de Catalunya with the Gràcia district. Known for its luxury boutiques and Modernist architecture, it is home to landmarks such as Casa Batlló and Casa Milà. Wide sidewalks, distinctive mosaic paving, and grand façades make it one of the city’s most prestigious avenues.
Port Olímpic is the marina area developed for the 1992 Olympic Games. Located between Barceloneta Beach and Nova Icaria Beach, it serves as the harbor master’s office and administrative center for the port. The surrounding area features yachts, waterfront restaurants, and a lively seaside promenade popular for walking and cycling.
Sagrada Família is Barcelona’s most iconic landmark, designed by Antoni Gaudí. This extraordinary basilica blends Gothic and Art Nouveau forms, with intricate façades and a luminous interior inspired by nature. Its towering spires and symbolic details make it one of the most remarkable architectural works in the world. We visit this remarkable church from the outside (free) and we can also purchase skip-the-line tickets for you if you wish to visit inside at the end of the tour. Price is 26 Euros per person. Most guests prefer to visit from outside but if you wish to add this option, please contact us after booking.
Casa Batlló is one of Antoni Gaudí’s most imaginative creations on Passeig de Gràcia. Redesigned in 1904, the building is famous for its colorful mosaic façade, bone-like balconies, and a roof shaped like a dragon’s back. Inside, flowing lines, natural light, and marine-inspired details showcase Gaudí’s distinctive Modernist style.
Plaça d’Espanya is one of Barcelona’s largest and most important squares, built for the 1929 International Exhibition. It is marked by the twin Venetian Towers and sits at the foot of Montjuïc, near the Magic Fountain and the former bullring, now the Arenas shopping center. The square serves as a major transport hub and a grand gateway to the Montjuïc area.
Casa Amatller is a prominent Modernist building on Passeig de Gràcia, designed in 1898 by architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch. Its distinctive stepped gable façade, inspired by Flemish Gothic architecture, contrasts with Gaudí’s neighboring Casa Batlló. Rich decorative details and sculpted stonework reflect the wealth and taste of the Amatller chocolate-making family who commissioned it.
Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya (MNAC) is housed in the grand Palau Nacional on Montjuïc hill. The museum is renowned for its outstanding collection of Romanesque frescoes, as well as Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, and modern Catalan art. Its elevated position also offers panoramic views over Barcelona from the terraces.
La Mansana de la Discòrdia, meaning “Block of Discord,” refers to a famous stretch of Passeig de Gràcia where leading Modernist architects competed through bold designs. The contrasting façades and decorative styles earned the block its nickname, making it one of Barcelona’s most striking showcases of Catalan Modernisme.
La Pedrera, officially known as Casa Milà, is one of Antoni Gaudí’s most iconic Modernist buildings on Passeig de Gràcia. Completed in 1912, it is famous for its undulating stone façade and surreal rooftop chimneys. The innovative structure, natural light-filled courtyards, and flowing forms reflect Gaudí’s distinctive architectural vision.
L’Anella Olímpica de Montjuïc is the main Olympic complex built for the 1992 Barcelona Games. Located on Montjuïc hill, it includes the Olympic Stadium (Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys), Palau Sant Jordi, and surrounding open spaces. Today, it hosts major sporting events, concerts, and public gatherings, offering wide views over the city.
Plaça de Catalunya is Barcelona’s central square and main meeting point, linking the historic old town with the modern Eixample district. Surrounded by shops, cafés, and major avenues such as La Rambla and Passeig de Gràcia, it serves as a key transport hub and a lively gateway to the city.
Visit the National Park of Montserrat - admission ticket included. Montserrat is a dramatic mountain range about one hour from Barcelona, known for its unique serrated rock formations and panoramic views. It is home to the Benedictine monastery of Santa Maria de Montserrat, which houses the revered Black Madonna (La Moreneta), Catalonia’s patron saint. The area combines natural beauty, spiritual significance, and excellent hiking opportunities.
Abadía de Montserrat is a Benedictine monastery founded in the 11th century, dramatically set within the Montserrat mountains. It is one of Catalonia’s most important spiritual sites and home to the revered Black Madonna (La Moreneta). The abbey also features a basilica, a renowned boys’ choir, and sweeping views over the surrounding landscape.
El Born is one of Barcelona’s most atmospheric neighborhoods, known for its narrow medieval streets, boutique shops, lively cafés, and vibrant nightlife. Blending history and creativity, it is home to landmarks such as Santa Maria del Mar and offers a mix of local culture, artisan stores, and a relaxed yet trendy vibe just steps from the old city center.
Santa Maria del Mar is a striking 14th-century Catalan Gothic church in the El Born district of Barcelona. Built between 1329 and 1383 by the city’s merchants and shipbuilders, it is known for its pure architectural lines, soaring columns, and luminous stained-glass windows. The interior feels unusually open and harmonious, making it one of the finest examples of Catalan Gothic architecture in Spain.

I booked a semi private tour with Spain Day Tours. Joel picked us up at hotel (in a very nice vehicle) and drove us to Monterserrat. We did the St. Joan Funicular and they included tickets to the Cathedral with the Black Madonna. Very memorable. Highly recommend Spain Day Tours.

Our guide picked us up at the cruise ship pier on time. Communication/instructions before the tour was very well done. Our guide was friendly & knowledgeable and made our tour fun and interesting. Our group was only 6 people which was very nice. We had plenty of time at Monserrat and afterwards we did Cava wine tasting at a beautiful winery. Our guide arranged for a lovely lunch at a local eatery. He was kind enough to drop us all off at our respective hotels. It was a great tour and a great day.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear you had such a great day from start to finish. We’ll be sure to pass along your kind words to your guide. We used Spain Day Tours for our recent stay in Barcelona after disembarking from a transatlantic cruise. They were very easy to contact and answered all my questions ahead of time. We had a small group of 7 for a Montserrat and Barcelona tour. We did not have a separate guide, just the driver who was very informative and easy to work with, often offering us options of what we wanted to do. Montserrat was amazing and although he couldn't go in with us, he directed us on the best way to see the Black Madonna and then visit the remaining chapels. We went to Park Guell and he was able to direct us to the main sites. It's amazing! Then we toured Montjuic and the main sites in Barcelona, making several stops along the way. Our friend was not feeling well and he was very considerate of her needs as well. We also used Spain day tours and their sister company Italy day tours for some excursions while on the ship and we will definitely be using them again in the future.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed your Montserrat and Barcelona tour with us and that our team helped make your post-cruise stay in Barcelona smooth and memorable. We truly appreciate your continued trust in us during your cruise travels. We look forward to welcoming you again for more unforgettable experiences in the future! BarcelonaDayTours

Thank you so much for your kind words! We're thrilled to hear you had an exceptional experience and enjoyed the convenience of the door-to-door pick-up and our small group setting. We truly appreciate your support and look forward to welcoming you back for another tour soon! BarcelonaDayTours
Would have given this a 5 star had we had more time at Monserrat. Guide was great. Had hoped to be able to do train or funicular. Just not enough time
Thank you for your feedback! We’re really glad to hear you enjoyed your guide. They’ll be happy to know they made a positive impression. We understand how disappointing it can be not to have enough time to fully explore Montserrat. We’ll take your comments into account as we review our scheduling to see where we can improve. We hope you still had a memorable visit and would love to welcome you again for another tour! BarcelonaDayTours
