Itinerary
You’ll begin your tour at one of the most iconic tapas bars in the city. Serving locals with delicious fare for decades, this spot is a must for any food lover. You’ll sample a perfectly paired aperitif along with a hand-picked selection of cured meats and cheeses. You’ll also try a true classic Spanish potato dish - a perfect introduction to the city’s specialties.
Before or after your introduction to one of Barcelona’s most historic spots (depending on if your tour takes place in the morning or the afternoon), it’s only fitting to take a stroll through the Gothic Quarter. As you weave through its narrow streets, passing Ancient Roman ruins, you’ll travel through a thousand years of history. Your guide will furnish you with the extra details that make the streets truly come to life.
The second tapas bar on our tour opened in 1945 with a menu consisting of four tapas dishes. Naturally, these have been perfected through the years and carefully chosen to exemplify what makes Spanish food unique: simple recipes prepared with the highest quality ingredients.
At your last stop, you’ll be treated to a sit-down meal at a local spot dating back to the early 20th century. Indulge in a classic selection of Catalan dishes such as croquettes and cannelloni paired with local wine, and top it off with a delicious traditional dessert.

We were fortunate to have Ariana as our guide for the Barcelona Tapas, Taverns & History Tour, and even more fortunate when it became an impromptu private tour since we were the only guests that day. This was especially appreciated because my mom is 79 years old, and Ariana was able to adjust the pace slightly to make the experience comfortable without ever making it feel rushed. Ariana struck the perfect balance between sharing Barcelona's history and introducing us to incredible food and drinks. We were fully engaged throughout the tour, and everything we tried was so good that we returned to several of the same places later that week. She also provided excellent recommendations during and after the tour, which helped us make the most of our time in Barcelona. It's clear that Ariana genuinely loves what she does, and that passion shines through in every part of the experience. I highly recommend the Barcelona Tapas, Taverns & History Tour with Devour Tours, especially if you have the opportunity to tour with Ariana. It was one of the highlights of our trip.
Amazing tour! We learned so much of the history of Barcelona and ate at some amazing places. Our tour guide was AMAZING. Highly recommend!!
Feliciano was an amazing tour guide, we had so much fun and ate so much delicious food. It was a fantastic way to get to learn about the city!
James was a knowledgeable tour guide. He shared history of the city as well as food. The cava tasting experience in the quaint book store was well worth it. Then we moved onto a small restaurant with the best fried peppers I have EVER had. I could have eaten them all night! The food and wine at the last restaurant were very filling. This was one of my favorite experiences in Spain this far!
Andrea was an excellent guide - we left with a much better understanding of the local history and culture as well as regional cuisine which was different than we thought! No paella or sangria here, instead it was authentic local dishes and drinks. I highly recommend this tour!
This was an excellent tour! In addition to all the delicious food, our guide, Alex, was wonderful! She was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful! I highly recommend this!!

Hector was amazing! Super knowledgeable and very friendly
An enjoyable food tour of three places in the old town of Barcelona. Our guide was informative about Barcelona and its food. The walks from place to place was easy and relaxed. The foods and wine on offering was just right. The tour ended at La Palma - a high note.
