Itinerary
As you cycle through Bangkok’s hidden neighborhoods, we'll bike into Talad Phlu, a lively and culturally rich area known for its street food, Thai-Chinese heritage, and authentic community life. It’s a local favorite — not yet touched by mass tourism — and a real highlight of your journey. What You’ll See and Do: • Ride Through Historic Streets Cycle along narrow roads lined with colorful Sino-Thai shophouses, old tea shops, and faded facades that echo the past. It’s like riding through a living museum of Bangkok’s Chinese-Thai culture. • Experience Real Local Life This isn’t a curated market for tourists — it’s real life: locals shopping, elders chatting on stools, and families working in generations-old shops. Talad Phlu captures the heart of Bangkok — a flavorful blend of history, culture, and street life that you’ll experience up close from your bike seat.
During your Candbike journey through Bangkok’s hidden backstreets, one of the most striking and unexpected stops is Wat Khun Chan, a vibrant riverside temple in the Thonburi district. What You’ll See and Do: • Admire Giant Buddha Statues Be awed by the enormous seated Buddha towering above the temple grounds. These statues are not polished tourist sights — they’re raw, colorful, and deeply local in style, giving you a sense of authentic Thai spirituality. • Hear Cultural Context from Your Guide Your local guide will explain the temple’s role in the community, the symbolism of the statues, and how Wat Khun Chan reflects the character of old Thonburi — spiritual, artistic, and deeply rooted. • Photography Stop This is one of the most photogenic stops on the ride — vibrant colors, reflections on the water, and towering Buddhas make for truly memorable images.
As you explore the quiet neighborhoods of Thonburi by bike, we'll bike passed at the serene and lesser-known Wat Nak Prok — a beautiful temple that blends Thai and Chinese architecture, offering a calm and reflective moment during your urban adventure. Wat Nak Prok is a spiritual hidden gem, giving you a moment of connection to Bangkok’s religious roots and the quiet rhythm of local temple life.
As part of your cycling journey, you’ll pass through the peaceful, tree-lined neighborhood of Wutthakat — a lesser-known area that perfectly captures the charm of everyday Bangkok life. This stop offers a refreshing change of pace and a deeper connection to the city’s hidden side. What You’ll See and Do: • Cycle Through Calm, Local Streets Pedal along quiet backroads where you’ll see small wooden houses, local shrines, family-run shops, and glimpses of canal-side life — untouched by tourism. • Observe Authentic Thai Daily Life Watch residents tending gardens, sweeping their porches, or preparing food. It’s a relaxed, residential area where you’ll truly feel like a guest in someone’s neighborhood. • See the Contrast of Old and New Wutthakat is where old-style Bangkok meets gentle urban development — modern condos rising next to old wooden bridges Wutthakat may not be in the guidebooks, but it’s a real-life portrait of local Bangkok — friendly, quiet, and full of soul.

This is the way to see old Bangkok. Our guide was wonderful and very informative, we got to see much more that we expected.
If you’re looking for a unique way to see Bangkok beyond the usual tourist attractions, I highly recommend the Bangkok Experience Bike Tour. The tour takes you through hidden laneways, local neighbourhoods, vibrant markets, and peaceful green spaces that most visitors would never discover on their own. It was the perfect mix of culture, history, food, and adventure. Our guide Koko was knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about sharing the real Bangkok. The pace was relaxed, making it suitable for all fitness levels, and there were plenty of opportunities to stop for photos and learn about local life. One of the highlights was riding through areas that felt worlds away from the busy city streets, giving us an authentic glimpse into Bangkok’s rich culture and community. The local snacks and refreshments along the way were a great bonus. A fantastic experience from start to finish and easily one of the best things we did in Bangkok. Whether it’s your first visit or you’ve been before, this tour offers a completely different perspective of the city. Highly recommended! 🚴🇹🇭✨
Beautiful bicycle trip organized by Coco. Got to see a hidden local vibe with lots of greens and some temples. Would go for it again definitely!
Enjoyed this morning bike ride through the streets of old Bangkok. It provided a glimpse of the city that most tourists would not discover on their own, mixed in with some brief stops to see attractions. Definitely recommend the morning ride, less likely to be overly hot.
Thank you! You nailed it — the morning is the sweet spot. Cooler, quieter streets, and the neighbourhood comes alive in its own way. Really glad you got to see a side of Bangkok most visitors miss 🙏
It was our best day in Bangkok. we visited from Canada. The bike tour takes you through real Bangkok back streets. Not the famous Sukhumvit tourist places. You'll see real local people, local shops, local houses and local temples. Locals throughout the bike trail were always kind and welcoming to the riders with warm smiles. The guide was amazing. He was patient with the riders. One person from the group was lost somewhere along the track. He went back searched all over trail to find her and bring her back. You'll be well taken care of from that perspective. I would certainly recommend this to anyone visiting Bangkok for the first time. It's fun, it's eye opening and you get to see the real places that are not marketed for tourists. Real authentic Thailand experience. 10 out of 10.
Thank you so much — 'best day in Bangkok' from visitors all the way from Canada means everything to us! You described it perfectly: the real Bangkok, not the tourist strip. So glad you felt that 🙏
Great tour! Coco was very patience in telling us spur the Thai culture, temples, food!! Saw parts of Bangkok that would not experience myself! The mango sticky rice we ordered was so good!!!
Thank you! Coco will be so happy to read this — he loves sharing the stories behind the temples and streets. And the mango sticky rice... always the right call! So glad you had a great ride 🙏
What a fun bike ride with guide Koko! He has told a lot and seen latrn about Bangkok/Thailand. Highly recommended!
Dank je wel! Koko straalt als hij dit soort berichten hoort — hij deelt zijn liefde voor Bangkok en de Thaise cultuur graag met iedereen. Echt blij dat je de tour zo leuk vond! 🙏
Great ride through Bangkok’s back alleys, very interesting to see how many thais are living. Easy pace but some of the sharp turns were tricky.
Thank you! Those sharp turns through the sois are part of the charm — keeps you on your toes! Really glad you enjoyed seeing how locals live. Hope the rest of Bangkok treated you well 🙏
Good bikes. Narrow streets and alleys. Interesting, informative temple tours. Small group (six people total). "Go Go" our tour guide was splendid! We're in good physical condition and comfortable in the saddle. One would want to be in good shape to enjoy the ride--we loved it!
Thank you Jeff! Go Go is a fantastic guide and we're so glad he made the tour memorable. Small groups are exactly how we like it — more personal, more flexible. Really appreciate you sharing this 🙏
Really great this! Where the cry ‘authentic’ is often used loosely, only to lure you into yet another ‘tourist hole’, this is certainly not the case here. The west side of Bangkok is the ‘poor’ part of the city. No super Malls and jewelers here. Even our taxi driver rarely gets there, he said. The owner is also your guide. This will take you into streets that are not on the map and will make a lasting impression. Really very nice and highly recommended.
Heel erg bedankt! 'Echt geweldig' — daar doen we het voor! Zo blij dat je de tour zo hebt beleefd. Hopelijk tot ziens in Bangkok 🙏
