Located at the heart of Bangkok, Thailand, the Grand Palace was a former residence for King Rama I to King Rama V of the Rattanakosin Kingdom. Today, the place is used for hosting royal ceremonies and welcoming the king's guests, State guests, and other foreign dignitaries. It is also a place where remains of kings and high-ranked members of the royal family were situated before cremation. The grand palace is divided into two main zones, which are the Temple of the Emerald Buddha and the royal residence.

Admission included30 min

Wat Phra Kaew (known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha or locally as Wat Phra Sri Rattana Satsadaram) is one of the most important Buddhist temples in Thailand. Located in the historical center of Bangkok and within the grounds of the Grand Palace, the temple enshrines Phra Kaew Morakot (the Emerald Buddha), the highly revered Buddha image meticulously carved from a single block of jade.

Admission included30 min

Wat Pho (the Temple of the Reclining Buddha), or Wat Phra Chetuphon, is right behind the Temple of the Emerald Buddha – it’s a must-see for any first-time visitor to Bangkok. As one of the largest temple complexes in the city, it’s famed for its giant reclining Buddha that is 46 metres long, covered in gold leaf. This an A World Heritage Site

Perfect length tour

This was the perfect length tour for a first time visit to Bangkok. We saw the highlights and I learned something of the history and culture of Thailand. The initial ferry ride and the short tuktuk ride were fun too and give some insight into daily life. Lucky is a skilled and knowledgeable tour guide. I wanted a shorter tour because my time in Bangkok is so limited. This fit the bill exactly.

The contents of the tour...

The contents of the tour is very good - Grand Palace and Reclining Buddha right on the Chao Praya river. You are right in the heart of Bangkok and the Grand Palace is a must see! Also our tour guide, Sunny, was excellent in explaining Bangkok and Thailand history. He was extremely polite and spoke very good English.

Worth it

Amazing to drive through Bangkok to and from the central meeting point. The temples were amazing, and the guide tried hard to communicate with us but had some difficulty. The boat trip was a good way to view the temples and city from a different perspective.

Go! The size of this Buddha is so impressive!

This Buddha is huge. You will need to remove your shoes. You may take photos. Buy coins at the entrance so you can drop one in each of the 108 bowls on the back side of the Buddha. You are to make a wish at each bowl as you drop the coin in. The coins reflect the 108 good deeds Buddha did to achieve perfection. Do make sure you cover your knees and shoulders. Hats are not to be worn inside either.

Amazing - A must see

Beautiful grounds, we went at midday and it wasn’t too busy. All the temples are soo well kept. It really is beautiful. You can take your own sarong or rent one there but remember women cover your shoulders too.

Nice temple of Reclining Buddha...

This is one of the most visited temple as part of three temple visit tour. You can see large Buddha idol as reclining position. Best place to take picture of full idol is at foot part. Having other attraction like fountain and various sculptures and temple at same area. Can enjoy 30 minutes time with worshiping God Buddha here.. A must do attraction of Bangkok.
