Bacaro Tour Unblended: A Pure Venice Foodie Experience

Description
Bacaro tour unblended means to have a food and wine experience in the pure venetian way, not lower levels. Venetians think that a bacaro tour is much more then eating and drinking, is actually a kind of ritual. The bacari are more than wine-bars, they are institutions where locals go to socialize, relax and have fun. This tour is a full immersion into this local ‘philosophy’, a must-do if you really want to discover the most genuine Venice.

Itinerary
We will explore Venice’s back-streets to find the best bacari where you will mingle with locals. You will learn (and taste) what ‘cicchetti’ are (and why you don’t have to call it tapas! ) and why we call ‘ombra’ a glass of wine. The tastiness of Cicchetti will delight your palate, the variety of wines will tickle your soul and the local atmosphere will win you over. This tour is a perfect introduction to Venice and will give you the confidence (thanks to all the precious insider tips and info shared by our local guides!) to keep exploring it by yourself avoiding the classical touristy traps. Moving on the back-streets we will stop in 4 different bacari where only locals go to fully experience the Venetian ritual of a Bacaro tour! You will taste 5 traditional cicchetti and 4 glasses of wine (not forgetting our bubbly prosecco!) learning their recipes, history and characteristics. You will explore Venice walking from one bacaro to the other on quiet alleys full of atmosphere. During the morning tour, we will also visit the local market (fish, fruits and vegetables), from where the fresh ingredients used to prepare cicchetti come. The tour will end in campo dell’Erbaria a lively little square close to the Rialto bridge on the market side, a place full of history and other interesting bacari where to go after the tour.

Veronica was amazing, learnt a lot about the culture and city. Please book with her.
I went on a tour with Elizabetha, she was a cheery, wonderful tour guide. It was about an hour which was plenty of time to get a taste of Venice. Totally worth the price. Had a great time with my friends. Would go again.
The best tour I’ve ever done by far!

Amazing! Marta was amazing and so lovely and educational
Absolutely phenomenal experience. Our guide Elizabeth was so lovely, and all the restaurant stops provided us with a little slice of Venice. Absolutely adored our tour guide, who was very knowledgeable, answered all our questions with glee and showed us why Venice is such a lovely place for tourists and for the people that call these islands home.
