Furnas / East Island – “Gastronomy, Hot Springs, Boilers & Fumaroles” Discover one of the most emblematic volcanic areas of São Miguel, often considered the heart of Azorean tourism. Explore the volcanological activity of one of the island’s most active volcanic areas, with an eruptive history dating back over 100,000 years. Experience the unique Furnas Valley, known for its remarkable diversity of mineral and thermal waters. Witness how locals prepare the traditional Azorean “cozido” using volcanic heat, and visit one of the only tea plantations in Europe. Optional stop: Parque Terra Nostra botanical garden and thermal pool (entrance not included). This visit depends on available time and overall group participation on the day of the tour. When your ship docks at the Turistic Port: Cruise ships docks at Ponta Delgada cruise terminal,when you leave the ship, you will pass trough the security room reaching the terminal hall, this is where our local guides welcome you, holding a sign with your name or a sign with AZORES DREAM TOURS If we have several cruise ship´s at the time: Only one ship can dock at the time at the turistic port, in this case the other´s cruise ship´s will dock at the comercial port, you will need to take the shutle out of the comercial port, and we will be at the first exit shutle stop in town, holding a sign with our name or a sign with AZORES DREAM TOURS

This is the second time we have gone on this tour in three years. We really think it is a great tour and lots of fun and a wonderful way to see so much for a very short period of time. The guys are really making an effort to personalize the tour and give you information about the Island. I'd recommend it again -we thought Carlos was fabulous and we had such a fun time with him.

Great experience! A pleasurable tour with many fascinating things to see. My favorite was the Crater volcano and hot springs. Well worth the trip to visit a natural wonder and our tour company provided the opportunity and more.

Our operator skipped 3 of the stops on the tour. It was also only about 3:30 long and included approx 40 people. There was no customization only a bunch of driving in a bus. There were multiple complaints by those of us traveling but the operator just said the description wasn’t supposed to include that. Contacted Viator for a partial refund and they gave nothing. I will no longer use Viator since they don’t stand behind the tours they offer.

We signed up for a small group private tour and got stuck on a bus tour with more than 30 people. There were 5 stops scheduled we only made three of them. Definitely disappointed and very mislead by operator.

What we got of the tour was terrific. But we were promised a visit to the Parque Terra Nostra and we were told that it was not covered as part of the tour even though it clearly was. We chose this for the 3 highlights of tea plantation, Furnas (also never got to see where they cook the food) and hot springs. Very disappointed to be told things were included when they clearly were not.
