The tour was good, what led to it a mess, I received multiple confirmations that the operator would pick us up at the hotel, the afternoon before they let us know they would not and gave us a vague meeting point at a shopping center. I asked multiple times where at the shopping center we would meet the guide only to receive the same vague response "at the shopping center" When we gt there, they told us that operator did not pick up at that location but at the corner 7/11, nobody was there, finally they showed us the bus down the street. When we got on the bus the guide could not find our reservation even though we had the confirmation, to call the agency, it took over 1/2 hr to get things straight after the guide called the travel agency which did not forward our reservation and payment to the tour operator. The tour itself was short, we stopped at 3 locations at Ayutthaya, the guide was local and knowledgeable, I wish she had more in depth information about the architecture and the meaning behind the architecture and the culture. We then drove an hour to pick up the cruise back to Bangkok, that was ok. I would recommend a private tour with a small group and a guide more tuned to your expectations, spend more time in Ayutthaya and forego the cruise part.
The tour stopped for 40 minutes at the reclining Buddha. It would be better to stay 5 minutes there and adding one more temple!
Hi Peter, first of all a great thanks to visit our experience, We have included the top 3 temples here and allocated maximum 30 minutes times, While we have given an opportunity to explore Ayutthaya by Boat so you do not miss anything here. however we will review your suggestion and do our best to create this experience exceptional. regards
Informed and enthusiastic guide, really interesting historical sites and a wonderful lunch on the boat!
