Wat Muang is home to one of the largest Buddha statues in Thailand, standing majestically as a symbol of spiritual devotion. This temple is not only a place of worship but also a site of immense cultural significance. The vast temple grounds feature intricate sculptures and serene surroundings that invite contemplation and admiration. The giant Buddha statue, visible from miles away, is a highlight for visitors, offering a breathtaking view and an inspiring sense of peace.
Wat Khun Inthapramun is famous for its massive reclining Buddha statue, one of the longest in Thailand. The statue exudes tranquility and is steeped in historical significance, as it dates back to the Sukhothai period. The temple’s serene setting makes it a peaceful retreat for those seeking to connect with the region’s spiritual heritage. The reclining Buddha, lying in a tranquil open-air space, serves as a powerful symbol of the Buddha’s final moments before reaching Nirvana.
Wat Mahathat is one of Ayutthaya’s most iconic temples, known for the famous Buddha head entwined in tree roots. This temple was once a central religious site in Ayutthaya and remains a significant cultural landmark. The ancient ruins evoke a deep sense of history, allowing visitors to walk through the remnants of a once-thriving Buddhist center. The fusion of nature and spirituality is embodied in the Buddha head, making Wat Mahathat a must-visit site for those exploring Ayutthaya’s rich past. (Admission fee 80 Baht)
Wat Phra Si Sanphet was once the royal temple of Ayutthaya, located within the grounds of the former royal palace. This temple is known for its three large chedis, which are iconic symbols of Ayutthaya’s grandeur. As the holiest and most important temple during the Ayutthaya period, Wat Phra Si Sanphet holds significant historical and cultural value. The temple grounds, though now in ruins, still reflect the majesty and spiritual importance it once held. (Admission Fee 80 Baht)
Wat Mongkon Bophit is renowned for housing one of the largest bronze Buddha statues in Thailand. The temple, which has been carefully restored, offers a glimpse into the religious practices of ancient Ayutthaya. Wat Mongkon Bophit is a place where history and spirituality converge, providing visitors with a deeper understanding of Ayutthaya’s cultural heritage.
Wat Yai Chai Mongkol is one of Ayutthaya’s most famous temples, known for its towering chedi and extensive grounds. The temple, originally built to house monks returning from study in Sri Lanka, has a long history tied to the reign of King Naresuan the Great. The guide was a lovely guy but when we booked we expected more in depth knowledge of the temples/locations we were taken to. We sometimes got the impression the guide hadn’t been there before! Great driver, safe and super friendly - and we didn’t need a full description but some knowledge was expected. We saw some old ruins and Buddhas so a good day
Wonderful trip. We only went to 4 of the 6 places due to running out of time. Driver was friendly but did not speak English.
The guide was excellent: very friendly and took amazing photos and videos. One thing I did not expect from the tour is that we only visited three points of the itinerary shown, perhaps because of the excess heat. The guide was very considerate and waited patiently whenever we needed to recover from the sweltering. Even so, the tour lasted about 10 hours in total, as we were moving slowly due to the temperature. I was looking forward to visiting Wat Phra Si Sanphet, which was one of the places I most wanted to visit. Therefore, I recommend talking with the guide about the sites that will be visited before starting the tour. I highly recommend this tour, as it is one of the few that take you to the giant Buddha and then to Ayutthaya.
Excellent tour! It was educational, interesting, and fun. A wonderful day with Sarinya! A very special note, as a solo female traveler, I really appreciated the tour operator’s thoughtfulness in providing me with a female guide. Their foresight and consideration for my comfort on a private day tour deserves an extra thank you!
Two tours of the same service were purchased, but for one of them, I wasn’t even picked up to receive the service. I requested a refund, but they just kept stalling and told me to take it up with the bank. They didn’t give me any clear answers on how to request a refund report, and they were a bit difficult when it came to providing any concrete responses.
It was an amazing day and could not have been better. Our driver Mr. WAT was very friendly and helpful, in addition to being very good photographer. He took several photos and shared them later. The car was very comfortable and he drove very carefully. We visited various places and had enough time to photograph and explore. I recommend everyone!
If you're looking to explore Thailand’s rich cultural heritage and sacred past, this private charter tour to Ayutthaya and Ang Thong is an absolute must. The journey through Ayutthaya, once the capital of the Kingdom of Siam.
I went on the Ayutthaya tour last month and had such an amazing time that I decided to book the Ayutthaya Ang Thong tour this time. This is my second tour with them, and it was just as fantastic as the first! Everything went smoothly, and I’m always impressed. I’ll definitely be recommending this tour to my friends. Thanks for yet another incredible experience!
Overall, I was really impressed with the tour. It had a laid-back pace, giving us plenty of time to take photos and enjoy the surroundings. If it’s your first time, I’d recommend wearing comfortable shoes because there’s quite a bit of walking. But for me, it was a smooth and fun experience!
I had an amazing time on the Ayutthaya and Ang Thong tour. The temples in Ayutthaya were full of charm, and the giant Buddha in Ang Thong was absolutely breathtaking. The tour was perfectly paced, and I managed to capture some unforgettable photos. Definitely one of the highlights of my trip!
