Avila and Segovia Private Minivan Tour from Madrid
Description
Once you have selected the pick-up point you want, we will start the journey to the city of Avila. First we will head to the Cathedral, marvel of the Gothic style dating from the 11th and 12th century. Then we will take a walk through the city where you can see the Plaza del Mercado Chico, the Church of San Juan Bautista, where Santa Teresa de Jesus was baptized and we will arrive at the Convent of Santa Teresa and next to it you will see the hall of the relics. Once you see the city we will go to the monument of the four posts so that you can take some extraordinary photographs of the city. Then we will move to Segovia in a 50 minute drive where we will stop for lunch next to the Plaza Mayor and the Cathedral.Once they have eaten, we will again take a walk to discover the Aqueduct and the Alcazar. Once you have visited, we will return to Madrid.

We will start the tour in Madrid from the point you decide. Our first stop will be Ávila. On this journey you will be able to see the Cross of the Fallen and the Guadarrama mountain range

The Plaza del Mercado Chico in Ávila is the vibrant heart of the historic center of the city, in Spain. Surrounded by historic buildings and bustling with cafes and restaurants, this square is a popular meeting point for locals and visitors. With its medieval charm, the Plaza del Mercado Chico is an emblematic place where cultural events and festivities are held, offering a unique experience in Ávila.
At this stop you can enjoy the Church of Santa Teresa de Jesús.
From Ávila we will take a one-hour trip to Segovia. On this trip you will be able to enjoy the landscape of the Guadarrama mountain range. Once we arrive at the Plaza Mayor you will have free time for lunch.
The Cathedral of Segovia, a majestic work of Spanish late Gothic, stands as an imposing symbol on the Segovia skyline. Its prominent tower, known as the "Lady of the Cathedrals", dominates the urban landscape. Built between the 16th and 18th centuries, the cathedral impresses with its splendid façade, its richly decorated interior and its history linked to Spanish royalty.
The Alcázar of Segovia is an imposing castle located on top of a rocky hill in Segovia, Spain. Its design combines elements of military and palatial architecture, with towers, battlements and a spectacular interior patio. It is one of the most emblematic castles in Spain, with a long history dating back to the 12th century, and has been used as a royal residence, prison and artillery academy over the centuries.
The Segovia Aqueduct is an impressive Roman structure dating back to the 1st century AD. It stands out for its perfectly preserved granite arches, which rise majestically over the Spanish city of Segovia, carrying water from the Sierra de Guadarrama to the historic center. It is one of the most emblematic monuments in Spain and a notable testimony of Roman engineering.
From the Segovia aqueduct we will make the return trip. Hour and fifteen minutes until you reach your departure point in Madrid.

Perfect Day journey with Joan from beginning to finish. Charming and knowledgeable guide-driver arrived on time for our hotel pickup in a luxury comfort van. Excellent presentation in well spoken English of the history from the Phoenician to present day Spain. He described in detail each historical or cultural aspect of the monuments in Avila and Segovia and the sights along the way. Joan tour is worth every penny, Enjoy !!!

I cannot say enough great things about our tour with Joan. My husband, my two teenagers and I spent an incredible day touring Avila and Segovia. Joan is so knowledgeable about the history, geography, architecture, and landscape of the area. His energy and enthusiasm are infectious, and he’s really fun. He set our expectations early in the day and continued to update us throughout, so we knew exactly what was next, but he also easily adjusted based on our interests. He took a ton of great photos of us. The van was very comfortable too. You will not be disappointed.
A wonderful family experience We did this tour of Avila and Segovia as a family during the month of March and it was a fantastic experience. From the first moment, Joan made us feel comfortable and became an excellent guide. He accompanied us throughout the tour, explaining clearly and enthusiastically the history of each site we visited. Incredible experience in Avila and Segovia! We did a 9-hour tour of Avila and Segovia and couldn't be happier. The driver was much more than that: he explained in detail the history of each place, accompanied us throughout the day and showed his passion for what he does. Both Avila and Segovia surprised us for their beauty and cultural richness, but the difference was made by Joan, who made everything enjoyable, interesting and very special.
