Just minutes from one of the busiest intersections in the world, Udagawacho sits on a quiet plateau where the developers never quite arrived. Independent coffee shops, natural wine bars, and decades-old record stores line streets that feel nothing like the Shibuya most visitors see. This is where locals actually spend their evenings — and where your night begins, with a seat at one of the neighborhood's most beloved izakayas.
A pedestrian street that has reinvented itself every decade since the postwar years — from black market stalls to teen fashion mecca to the buzzing dining and nightlife strip it is today. Your guide walks you through the history as you move deeper into the crowd, before settling in at a lively local izakaya that captures everything Shibuya is known for.
Up to 3,000 people cross from every direction at once — and somehow, it works. Your guide explains how this intersection became a global symbol of Tokyo, and what's changed in the neighborhood towering above it. - Please budget a minimum of ¥6,000 per person and bring cash. The base food and drinks at each venue are split equally among the group — any amount under ¥100 is rounded up and carried over as a credit toward the next venue.

We had so much fun and they were so considerate of me being a vegetarian. Also got to shop for the delicious peach wine we had during dinner. We didn't feel rushed and felt like we made a new friend!

This was a Magical introduction to Shibuya. Our guide, Megumi, was informative, helpful, great fun and made sure we didn't get lost on a busy Saturday night. The menu options for the included food and drinks ensured everyone was well catered for in the different venues that locals visit.

Shibuya has a lot going on, and this was without question the best way to experience it in one night. Hy, our guide, really knew his stuff. He took us to some amazing places that we never would have known about. I cannot over-emphasize what a knowledge person he was to have at our disposal. I would recommend this to anyone that wants to see sneaky-great parts of Shibuya that have really great, fun energy and are also free of tourists.

I had an amazing time! I love Magical Trip. This was my 4th tour with them. I love how organized they are and how great the guides are! I happened to be the only person who signed up for the tour and my guide Karen was incredible ! Even though it was just the two of us we had a great night. It felt like going out for drinks with a friend I’ve known forever. You get plenty of food and drinks throughout the night. Come hungry! No additional cash needed. Just book the tour and show up! I really enjoyed my tour with Yoichi! We tried out two places with fantastic food and drink and finished off at a karaoke bar. Yoochi was really friendly and upbeat (and very good at karaoke) and the other guests were very nice.
