Amsterdam Light Festival: Canal Cruise + Bite & Unlimited Drinks

Description
Sail with us through the canals of Amsterdam and admire the impressive light art of the 14th edition of the Amsterdam Light Festival. This year’s theme, Legacy, invites artists from around the world to reflect on what we preserve and what we pass on to future generations. During this 75-minute cruise, you will encounter more than 20 light artworks that transform the city into an open-air art festival. Experience it from a comfortable, luxury (covered) boat, offering unobstructed views of the illuminated canals. Drinks such as wine, mulled wine, beer, and soft drinks are available on board. If you choose the unlimited drinks option, you’ll enjoy all of these beverages without limits, along with your choice of a fresh stroopwafel or a portion of salted snacks to complete the experience. Step aboard, take in the unique perspectives from the open water, and be part of an inspiring celebration of light, art, and the stories that connect us.

A big disappointment. Deliberately booked on a luxury saloon boat because it was a gift. Long lines even if you had a ticket. The boat turned out to be a sloop covered with a sail and plastic windows. No luxury, no cosiness like Christmas decorations on board. The boat also skipped 3 light artworks at the shipping museum, Wertheimpark and wibautstraat because they were supposedly not allowed in. No snack. Drink made of plastic. One point for the guide who told a nice happy story.
Veronica, Anna and Omri made the night extra special! It was absolutely incredible - the hostesses were knowledgeable, kind and warm! The story of the theme LEGACY and the meaningful, powerful art work were such a highlight that added to our trip. Thank you - truly a memorable experience
I was incredibly disappointed in this tour, it was a waste of time and money. We were packed onto a long saloon boat with close to 60 people when I specifically chose the tour that said "luxury" for a more intimate experience and the website said it would be around 30-40 max. While we were waiting in line for our time slot, we overhead the staff talking about how they were cancelling boats and not all would be going out at and after our time slot 21:30, rather they were combining everyone on to less boats. This made the seating and ride incredibly uncomfortable and hot, as we were cramped in and all of the plastic coverings and windows were closed, despite it being a nice winter night and it said to dress warm so I was bundled up. When we got on the boat, we were asked to walk to the back of the long saloon boat, the biggest one I saw on the water, which had a plastic covering over the sides instead of clear glass, like the front had. The plastic did not lift up, so the view of the light show was foggy and completely unseeable. At one point I even tried to unzip part of the plastic so that I could get some air and take a photo of some of the lights. The "snacks" they provided, which on the site showed a picture of a nice laid out charcuterie board, was a small plastic container with some Chexmix. It also said that it would be a 75 minute tour and it was exactly 60 minutes from when we got loaded onto the boat to when I got off. There was no stopping or slowing down to let us even try to get a glimpse of the lights. Complete waste of money and time. Find a better tour that has more transparency in how they operate, what the "snacks" will be, and how many people will be on. I will not be booking a tour through this company again.
Dear guest, Thank you for sharing your experience. We are deeply sorry that your tour did not meet expectations and left you disappointed. Your feedback is invaluable, and we sincerely apologize for the overcrowding, lack of communication, and the discrepancies between what was advertised and what you experienced. We regret that the plastic coverings obstructed your view of the light show, the snacks did not match the description, and the tour duration was shorter than promised. This was not the luxury, intimate experience we strive to deliver, and we understand your frustration. We would like to make this right for you. Could you please email us at info@amsterdamboat experience.com so we can discuss a solution? Your feedback will help us address these issues and improve for future guests. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention, and we hope to restore your trust in us. Kind regards, Jessie - Front Office Management
The weather conditions were clearly not suitable for the event, hours before the time of the event, yet it was not cancelled. The plastic windows on the boat were completely fogged up for the entire duration of the canal cruise, so you could not see the light installations at all!

It was a great experience to see Adam by boat. Lying in the sun on one of the amazing boots of flagships. The service of Lotte was great, nice drinks for a good price. The captain Jan told us funny stories about Adam, we had a good laugh. Definitely a recommendation and very nice experience! I think also great for families to see Adam without the rush on the streets!
We had chosen the last tour from the Anne Frank House at 10 pm. Due to the current situation we were only 4 participants on the boat. There was very little going on in Amsterdam and this was unique. The two employees Chiel and Sas have nevertheless kept the mood very good and told us a lot of interesting facts about Amsterdam. They were both very nice staff. Drink prices on board are fine. If I am in Amsterdam again, I will do a tour with this provider again, as I still miss the tour in daylight and this is certainly another experience than at night.
