Itinerary
Our tour starts at the National Monument on Dam square, close to where Amsterdam was founded. Our tour also ends here.
Originally built as a town hall, the historic palace is the most culturally significant building of the Netherlands. A visit is highly recommended after the tour and can be booked on the Royal Palace website.
Walk along Amsterdam's most recognizable feature; the UNESCO-listed Canal Belt. Follow us along the city's connective veins, its scenic cobbled streets and houseboats.
Let us take you into the maze of Amsterdam, into sideways and onto squares where tour buses and boats can't reach. Apart from the important city landmarks, our tour has no set itinerary. Let our guide surprise you with an original tour, from their own unique perspective.

Marius was excellent. But he needs to check the history of the posts that support the houses. They are 8 to 12 meters tall. Which is sufficient. JF
We arrived in the am from the USA and thought it would be a good idea to get familiar with amsterdam. Our guide was very knowledgable and likable. We got to learn a lot about the city and the tour was a good introduction. We only had about 6 people so it was a nice size.
Trip was cancelled without notice due to overbooking . Not my fault but our plans were derailed . Very unprofessional. Thumbs down.
Dear guest, Thank you for your review. You are absolutely right, and we sincerely apologize for what happened. Our Amsterdam tours are very popular and often fully booked. In this case, the tour unfortunately became overbooked. Because of the strict city regulations, we are only allowed to take a maximum of 15 guests per guide, so we cannot simply add extra people to a group. That being said, this should have been managed much better on our side. You should not have been left without clear notice, and we fully understand that this disrupted your plans. We are very sorry for the inconvenience. A refund has been issued, and we will review what happened internally to prevent this from happening again. Kind regards, Free Walking Tours Amsterdam

ETHAN was a great guide! He was funny and inspiring. Lots of interesting facts about Amsterdam. My friend really enjoyed the herring!
We saw many things that we can take a closer look at afterward. We also received a brief historical overview. Also, we got a short historical summary. Highly recommended!
The guide was outstanding. He was very knowledgeable.
Great guide who had aloy of knowledge of both history snd current Amsterdam. Highly recommend.
This tour was brilliant! Sebastian, the guide, was very knowledgeable and really interesting to listen to. He gave us the history of the city and the country, and talked about the more notable influences on local culture. He explained what we were looking at along with some great anecdotes. The tour represented a really enjoyable couple of hours.
