Amsterdam Highlights Small-Group Walking Tour

Description
Discover Amsterdam on a 2.5-hour walking tour that blends history, culture, and entertainment into an unforgettable experience. Led by a knowledgeable guide, explore the city centre and hear fascinating stories often overlooked by guidebooks. Learn how a small settlement on the Amstel River became Europe’s trading hub during the Dutch Golden Age. The tour also covers Amsterdam’s more controversial past: the evolution of the Red Light District, liberal drug policies, and the darkest chapters of the 20th century. Each stop offers a unique perspective, helping you understand why this city is unlike any other. By the end, you’ll gain a deep understanding of Amsterdam—its history, contradictions, tolerant spirit, and vibrant present—and the confidence to explore on your own. This tour is the ideal starting point to make the most of your stay in the Dutch capital.

Pia was an amazing guide: personable, perfect English, full of information, both historical and cultural. This was a great first day activity to get the lay of the land.
Thank you Richard for providing a positive experience in Amsterdam. Our guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and presented both history and local stories in an interesting way. The route was well planned, we got to see both famous sights and hidden gems. I left with a much better understanding of the city and can highly recommend this tour.
While some of the information was good, I think there was a lot more Eduardo could have talked about. Honestly I found him a bit boring.
