Itinerary
Amsterdam Oosterdok, once a bustling 19th-century harbor, is now a vibrant district blending historic charm with modern architecture. Key attractions include the NEMO Science Museum and the National Maritime Museum. The area offers scenic waterfront views and a mix of residential, commercial, and recreational spaces.
Houseboat Alley in Amsterdam is a unique residential area where traditional houseboats line the picturesque canals. This charming neighborhood offers a distinctive living experience, blending the city's maritime heritage with modern comforts. It's a popular spot for visitors to explore Amsterdam's iconic waterways and experience life on the water.
The Amstel is the biggest canal of all and Amsterdam was founded from this canal which was originally a river. Fisherman builded a "dam" and called is Amstel're'dam.
The reason the houses in Amsterdam are tilted is because of the soil. The city is built on marshlands, which means that everything heavy sinks right into the soil. Therefore, we started to build upon wooden poles to reach a deeper and more sturdy layer of soil that could support the heavy houses.
Today this area is known as the “Stopera”, a combination of STadhuis (Cityhall in Dutch) and Opera. Together they form the Stopera!
After the Thorbecke bridge you will see the famous 7 Bridges! If you are lucky, and there are no other boats, you can see 7 identical stone bridges in a row.
Admire the stunning mansions along the Golden Bend of the Herengracht, a place renowned for its historical grandeur and lavish architecture.

Eduardo and Martin, the best. It was very pleasant and fun to learn a bit about Amsterdam through what both of them taught us. They speak English and Spanish fluently. I love them.
Maria and Mario are awesome guides!
A fantastic 1-hour cruise with Merijn Fooid, a very pleasant outing!
What a fabulous trip made with the very friendly Merijin, the best skipper if you want to learn more about the history of the city! Thank you to the KLM pilot!
Very pleasant walk with Merijn, the KLM pilot. Very enjoyable and good conversation. The boats are very pretty.
Frank put your guide was awesome. We enjoyed the interactive experience
Very beautiful experience. Riding along the canals in a beautiful tulip boat. This is a must to do in Amsterdam
Love this tulip boat tour! We cruised along the lovely canals and had Floris as our guide. He was fun and kept us all engaged throughout the tour. It was a small group about 8 of us and Floris shared some history, fun facts and even recommendations on where to eat etc. As New Yorkers we can be a bit picky with certain things but his recommendation was on point ! It was such a charming thing to do and our favorite tour in the Netherlands. We stopped on certain areas and gave us an opportunity to take those instagrammable photos like in front of the dancing houses. We will take these memories with us till we get old. Just a lovely tour.
booked the hour long tulip canal cruise, Skander was amazing! very knowledgeable and personable. we were with a lovely group of four ladies, so the whole tour felt very personal and chatty. unlimited drinks was also a bonus! beers, seltzers, and wine all available which was amazing. overall 100% recommend to anyone visiting the city
Hi we went on the tulip canal cruise a few days ago. It seems that you took more passengers than was suggested on your page and reduced the number of tulips on the boat. There were more than 20 pax on the boat today and we were expecting not more than 10 pax. The number of tulips was drastically reduced and the boat was too crowded. We booked this cruise for the intimate experience of just few passengers. this was not what we expected. Images do not reflect the actual experience. Also there was some issue with the boat at some point and the driver told us if this continues he will have to drop us on the side of the canal. I would like to demand a partial refund
