Itinerary
We cruise thought the beautiful canals of the Herengracht.
REGULIERSGRACHT (7 BRIDGES): monumental view - The only point in the Amsterdam canals where you can see seven bridges one after the other in a single view
Compared to the other canals, the Prinsengracht is a relatively modest canal. Whereas Herengracht was built and designed for Amsterdam's upper class, Prinsengracht was designed as a transitional canal between the rich canal belt and the working-class neighborhoods (Jordaan) that surrounded them. This can also be seen in the houses on Prinsengracht, which are much more 'sober' compared to the other canals: less wide, and with fewer decorations than on the other canals.
MAGERE BRUG ‘SKINNY BRIDGE’ is the oldest still working, partly wooden, drawbridge in Amsterdam and a National Monument. The Skinny Bridge was built in the 17th century. At that time, the city council was a bit short of money, so they decided not to build an exorbitant bridge, but a cheap (wood instead of stone) and narrow ('skinny') one. The bridge was so narrow that people could hardly pass each other, or they had to be very skinny. The current bridge dates from 1934. Car traffic has not been allowed to cross it since 2003. The Skinny Bridge is Am-sterdam's most famous bridge, and the setting for many films (including James Bond).
HERMITAGE MUSEUM is located in the Amstelhof. The building dates from 1681 and was originally a nursing home (for 300 years). In 2007, the nursing home was converted to a museum. Some rooms were maintained and restored. The Hermitage museum is an annex of the Hermitage in Saint Petersburg, Russia, and shares a part of its art collection with the one in Russia. Together, the two Hermitages have the largest art collection in the world.
BLAUWBRUG ‘BLUE BRIDGE’ owes its name to its predecessor: a drawbridge like the Skinny Bridge, but with blue railings. The current Blauwbrug dates from 1883 and was inspired by the Pont Neuf in Paris. Because of the World Exhibition in Amsterdam in 1883, a new bridge with grand appearance was needed. The crowns on top of the bridge are 'imperial crowns' and are the same crowns as those on the Westerkerk and in the city arms. The crown is the emperor's crown of the holy roman empire, given by Emperor Maxi-milian I in 1489 as thanks for Amsterdam's money support. The emperor's crown is proof that even the great emperor recommended Amsterdam, and therefore very important for trade.

We were lucky enough to just be our family and one more person so we basically got a private tour. The brunch was perfectly adequate and filling along with beer and sparkling. Accompanying guide also who both told us about the sights and answered all our questions. Which made the tour both enjoyable and educational. Have nothing to complain about.
Hej Jonas, Thank you so much for your wonderful 5-star review! We're delighted to hear that you and your family enjoyed such a personal Brunch Cruise through Amsterdam. Sometimes our guests are lucky enough to experience an almost private cruise, creating even more opportunity to relax, ask questions, and enjoy the city at your own pace. We're also pleased that you enjoyed the brunch, the drinks, and the stories shared by our guide. One of the things that makes this cruise so special is our small boat. We go where only the smaller boats can go, allowing our guests to discover charming canals that the larger tour boats simply can't reach. Thank you for your kind recommendation. We hope to welcome you and your family back on board again in the future!
This was a great activity for us to kick off to a day trip in Amsterdam. The sandwiches and pastries were yummy and the drinks were plentiful. Luke our captain shared lots of great info on Amsterdam. Definitely recommend.

Thank you for your recommendation and for choosing Boat Amsterdam. We hope to welcome you back on board again soon!
A wonderful canal cruise! We were the only passengers on the boat (we were told that the Brunch with Bubbles cruises typically have only one of two couples.) As a result, our interaction with our guide was personalized. He was terrific; we thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent with him! We have taken Amsterdam canal cruises before, this was different because the boat was much, smaller so we could go on canals the bigger boats could not. Food was good, delicious sandwiches, fresh pastries, fresh fruit and, of course, champagne. We absolutely enjoyed it and feel that it was money well spent.
Thank you so much for your wonderful 5-star review! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the relaxed and personal atmosphere of our Brunch Cruise. Having just one or two couples on board often makes the experience feel even more special, giving you plenty of time to interact with your captain and enjoy Amsterdam at your own pace. One of the things that makes our cruises unique is our small boats. **We go where only the smaller boats can go**, allowing you to discover charming canals that the larger tour boats simply can't access. It offers a completely different perspective of Amsterdam. We're also pleased that you enjoyed the freshly prepared brunch, the bubbles, and the peaceful cruise through the city. Hearing that you felt it was money well spent is one of the nicest compliments we could receive. Thank you for choosing Boat Amsterdam. We hope to welcome you back on board again soon—perhaps for another cruise in a different season to experience Amsterdam from a whole new perspective!
The itinerary displayed for this cruise did not match the actual cruise. Please don’t expect to see any historic sites or monuments as listed. It’s really just a simple version of a booze cruise. The itinerary mentioned passing by several sites like The Jordaan, Anne frank house, 7 bridges etc. it’s just a simple cruise. When I mentioned to the captain he said that the itinerary was old and hasn’t been updated.
Dear Mr. Patel, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that the experience did not fully meet your expectations. Our route has been carefully designed to offer the best balance between Amsterdam's most beautiful canals, historic landmarks and a comfortable experience, while also taking into account busy waterways, temporary canal closures and instructions from the authorities. During the cruise, guests pass many of Amsterdam's well-known landmarks, including the Oude Kerk, Anne Frank House, NEMO Science Museum, the National Maritime Museum, the Rembrandt House Museum, the Magere Brug (Skinny Bridge), the Blauwbrug, City Hall, the Dancing Houses, the Munttoren, the famous Seven Bridges and many more. Depending on canal traffic, temporary closures, events and other operational circumstances, the exact route may vary from one departure to another. Amsterdam is a city with more than 750 years of history and hundreds of monuments, bridges and historic buildings. It simply isn't possible to include every famous landmark during a one-hour cruise. In fact, even a full-day cruise would only cover a small part of everything the city has to offer. We appreciate your comment regarding the itinerary and will review the wording to make it even clearer that routes may vary due to canal traffic, temporary closures, events and instructions from the authorities. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you on board again in the future and provide you with the experience we aim to deliver to every guest.
Great experience! The food and drinks were good and there was plenty of them. Onno was a great and humorous tour guide and we learned so much in such short time. Would do again!
Dear Lachlan, Thank you so much for your fantastic 5-star review! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed our Brunch Cruise and that there was plenty of delicious food and drinks to make the experience even more enjoyable. We'll be sure to pass your kind words on to Captain Onno—he'll be thrilled to hear that you appreciated both his humour and the stories he shared. It's wonderful to know that you'd do it all again. Thank you for choosing Boat Amsterdam, and we hope to welcome you back on board soon for another memorable Brunch Cruise through Amsterdam's beautiful canals!
Me and my husband had an amazing morning on this hour long cruise captained by the lovely Onno. The brunch and drinks provided were perfect and enjoyed by both of us. Although we didn’t book a private cruise we were the only ones on the boat that morning but I am sure it would have been equally enjoyable with others. Onno was a fantastic host / captain and kept us laughing the entire time as well as giving us a well informed tour of the local area. The cruise, with a plentiful brunch, was well worth the price and was a lovely way to start a day in the city or to celebrate any special occasion. We would highly recommend this to anyone who wants a special but relaxed and casual morning in Amsterdam. Thank you Onno, we hope to see you again in the future!

Onno will be thrilled to hear that his humour, local knowledge, and warm hospitality helped make your morning so enjoyable. It's especially rewarding to hear that you felt the cruise offered great value and that you would recommend it for celebrating a special occasion or simply starting the day in Amsterdam in a relaxed way. That's exactly the experience we hope to create for every guest. Thank you for choosing Boat Amsterdam and for your heartfelt recommendation.
