The private tours I am offering are flexible and can be fully customized to your interest and needs. After you have booked we can adjust the itinerary to your wishes. When booking, please let me know your preferred starting time of the tour. The itinerary contains all the well known highlights, but you will also get to see the hidden gems and learn about local life. This tour can be combined with a visit to the Keukenhof Gardens, open from March 20 till May 11 2025. Tickets (time-slots cost Euro 20.00 per person) are additional. Transportation will be in sheer comfort in a premium luxury car, a Lexus LS600hL. I am looking forward to welcoming you in The Netherlands!

Itinerary
After picking you up we will start with a car drive through the historical centre of beautiful Amsterdam and see all the highlights: Dam Square, the Canal Belt area, the Jewish Quarter, Jordan neighborhood, the 9 Streets, Old town & the Red Light district and more. In principal this part of the daytour is a car drive but of course whenever you wish we can park the car and go for a nice stroll!
The Jordan neighborhood, built in the early 17th century once housed the poor working class as well as immigrants and refugees from all over Europe. Today it is a sparkling part of Amsterdam, mainly inhabited by students, young professionals and artists.
Dam Square is where it all started. I will explain you the origins of Amsterdam and tell you about the history of the main monuments, such as the 17th century Royal Palace and the Nieuwe Kerk (the New Church).
The 17th century Canal Ring (or Canal Belt) surrounds the medieval city centre like a spider's web. You will learn everything about this fascinating area. How and for whom it was developed and what people live here today.
This world famous part of Amsterdam is also a must see. But not only for the obvious reason most people think it is. The Old Town, I will show you, has so much more to offer.
After our Amsterdam highlights tour we drive to the countryside north of the city, called Waterland. We will go off the beaten track where tour buses don't come and you will experience the real Holland. Lush green meadows, grazing cattle, dikes and ditches, locks, old farmhouses and inevitably the old windmills. You will see quaint old towns like Edam, Monnickendam, Marken, Broek in Waterland and more. A visit inside a working 17th century windmill (open from April-October, except on Mondays) in the Unesco area of the Beemster -and Schermerpolder is also on the program, as is a free cheese tasting at an organic farm. After our countryside experience I will bring you back to your hotel, cruise ship or to the airport.
Edam is known for its cheese. In this quaint historical town we will have a short walking tour of approximately 15 minutes and if you like you can stop here for lunch (not included in the tourprice).
This picturesque old fisherman's town, not flooded yet by tourists, has kept all its charm. We can drive through it by car or go for a nice stroll. Nearby is an organic farm where you can enjoy a free cheesetasting if you like.
This former fisherman's island, known for its old wooden houses can only be explored by foot. A scenic walk through its narrow streets that lead to a little old port takes approximately 30 minutes. I will tell you about the turbulent history of this isolated place.
One of the hidden gems in the Netherlands. We will drive through this exeptionally beautiful watervillage or go for a stroll if you prefer.

My husband and I can only say the most wonderful things about our experience. We got to see such amazing towns with such beauty and history. Eric was incredible at his job and made the tour a very memorable experience. Eric had such knowledge about the towns and provided such insight. You feel like you are in a movie walking through these towns. The ride around was extremely comfortable and enjoyable! 10/10 book this tour!
Eric is a total gentleman who is knowledgable, worldly and well spoken. Snacks, water and treats made the trip enjoyable. The sites were beautiful, as was his Lexus. His flexibility in catering to where we wanted to go were greatly appreciated. Anyone using his services would be choosing the “right guy”.
Eric was a wonderful guide! My boyfriend and I both enjoyed spending the day with him learning about Amsterdam and the surrounding small villages. Everything was excellent, from his super comfortable Lexus with an interesting history of its own, to the chilled beverage selection he brought for us, along with delicious snacks to enjoy during the driving part of the day. He listened to what we wanted to do and developed a plan that fit our expectations perfectly. I’ll recommend him to all my friends who visit Amsterdam!!

Eric was a fabulous host and guide as he showed us Amsterdam and the surrounding countryside. Picked up at the hotel in a fabulous luxury sedan and began a tour of the Netherlands that we will never forget. Had we just seen Amsterdam would have been great but Eric drove us into the fabulous countryside and that is where we really experienced the Netherlands. Visited many little historic towns and villages and the hundreds of Dikes and Canals as he explained how a once salt water lake was turned into a fresh water lake(very large lake also). Then how parts of that lake were turned into land masses where many of these villages exist and this all happened hundreds of years ago before modern technology, example is a twenty mile long Dam. It was by far and away the best excursion of all with a private tour of Budapest being second. You may think it is expensive but it was so worth the money, we may never see Amsterdam again but we will never forget our day with a fabulous man named Eric.
This tour was excellent. We were able to see the city of Amsterdam as well as a large portion of the countryside. Eric is one of the best tour guides we have ever encountered. He was very knowledgeable, personable and patient. I highly recommend this tour.
