Itinerary

120 min

Early in the morning, we’ll pick you up from your hotel in a comfortable 4WD vehicle and head to one of Kazakhstan’s most remarkable destinations — Altyn-Emel National Park. The journey covers 250 kilometers (about 4.5 hours) through the ever-changing landscapes of southeastern Kazakhstan, where rural life, vast степpe plains, and mountain views unfold along the way. Our first stop is the legendary Singing Dune. This massive sand formation rises 150 meters high — about the height of a 50-story building. In dry weather, the dune “sings,” producing a deep, resonating sound similar to the hum of an organ or a jet engine. This rare natural phenomenon was once studied by Soviet scientists and continues to fascinate visitors today.

120 min

Next, we drive to the Aktau Mountains (approximately 2.5 hours). These striking, multi-colored formations are the remnants of an ancient ocean floor, where fossils of prehistoric animals can still be found. We’ll stop for lunch in a nearby village so you can rest before continuing the tour. And of course, feel free to ask your guide to take photos — we’ll be happy to help you capture the best moments of your journey.

Travelers will explore the surreal Katutau Mountains — one of the most unusual landscapes in Altyn-Emel National Park. Formed by ancient volcanic activity, these rugged mountains feature dramatic rock formations, deep canyons, and colorful layers shaped by wind and erosion over millions of years. Guests will walk through remote valleys, discover unique geological formations, take panoramic photos, and experience the wild desert scenery of southeastern Kazakhstan. The area is perfect for nature lovers, photographers, and travelers looking for off-the-beaten-path landscapes far from tourist crowds.
