At our next stop from Santa Pola, we'll board a boat to Tabarca Island, surrounded by the sea and dotted with traditional nautical-style houses. After a short guided tour, you'll have free time for a swim, photos, and to sample the local cuisine. We'll then take the boat back to Santa Pola, where we'll discover its Roman port past with a brief visit to the old town, learning about its rich maritime history. Afterward, you'll have free time. We'll venture into the Lagunas de la Mata and the Torrevieja Natural Park to admire the salt flats, where we won't want to miss the striking pink hue of the lagoon, a result of the natural phenomenon that occurs in the wetland. This visit is included in the tour price. After visiting the salt flats and taking in this unique landscape, which will undoubtedly provide some of the most original photographs, we'll continue our journey.
We will arrive at the port of Santa Pola to take the boat to Tabarca.

Its 1,800 meters in length and its mere 400 meters in width make this island a place where you can explore every corner on foot. There are no cars on its streets. Just the sea, nautical-style houses, and wonderful people. Tabarca captivates all its visitors, from the most adventurous to lovers of the Mediterranean or water sports. After a short guided tour of part of the island, you'll have free time for a swim, taking photos, and sampling its delicious cuisine.

In Santa Pola, we'll discover its Roman port past with a short visit to its old town, learning about its rich history shaped by the sea. Afterwards, you'll have free time to explore the streets, beaches, or port of this fishing village.

Did it independently, bus from La Mata to Santa Pola, and boat... total just over 15 euros each. Boats busy, loved Tabarca but pricey. Imagine it would be too packed in summer. "Glass bottom boat" only had a few grubby little windows!

Good day out, variety of experiences. Guide very pleasant and knowledgeable. Very warm on day we travelled and waiting for ferry back bit uncomfortable but manageable. Staff in restaurants on Tabarca not very pleasant but think this is a general opinion.

The first stop was the pink lagoon. A quick visit where I had time to take some photos and got information about Spain's salt industry. Then a boat trip out to the stunning island of Tabarca. Beautiful. Perfect for swimming and sunbathing or just strolling around in the stunning surroundings. Pretty high prices for food and drink. Bring plenty of sunscreen. Very nice and good guide who parried between Spanish and English in an excellent way. What took down the grade slightly was the waiting time on the boat for the return trip. It was 38 degrees and we had to queue for 60 minutes before departure with partial possibility of some shade.

Fantastic trip for a whole day. Our guide(2nd August 2025) was great. Her Spanish and English were perfect. She was really helpful and joyful. Tabarca is a great island to visit ( don't forget plenty of suncream;) ). It's an inexpensive trip with great views and a very polite guide.
