Leave the city behind and head into the wilderness onto Norway’s fifth largest island. See how locals live and keep your eyes open for typical Arctic fauna including eagles, sea otters, seals, foxes, elk and reindeer. Stop at local cafes and shops to see and buy authentic Arctic products including locally produced food. Make sure to wrap up warm as we will make several photo stops to admire the views of the mountains and fjords. Have lunch at Sommarøy, where you can see stunning white sandy beaches.

Join us on a roundtrip tour of the picturesque island of Kvaløya (Whale Island) in a Mercedes Sprinter. Take in the fresh air and enjoy breath-taking views of the mountains and fjords capturing the endless beauty through your camera lens. We will head into the wilderness on Norway’s fifth largest island so keep your eyes open for typical Arctic fauna including eagles, sea otters, seals, foxes, moose and reindeer. Make sure to dress in warm layers as we will have several photo stops to admire the views of the mountains and fjords. Towards the end of the tour we will have delightful lunch in the small village of Sommarøy. You will never forget the crystal-clear water and the white sandy beaches that make this a favorite destination for both locals and visitors. Included: hotel drop-off, transport in Mercedes Sprinter, professional driver and English-speaking expert guide, photo stops, digital photos, hot drinks and snacks, tasty lunch!

For the Private Tour Option, pick up at your hotel or the cruise port between 09:40 - 10:00am (or as arranged; we can accommodate most of the cruise calls over the summer months) For the Shared Small Group option, pick up will be from either the Cruise Terminal OR our Northern Norway Travel Shop in Tromsø Havn Prostneset (city center). Tour guide was very informative along the journey. Described the areas and fjords. Our driver was exceptional. Numerous stops along the way with wonderful views. Lunch was delicious
It was a great experience seeing the surrounds. The tour operator made sure we got to the meeting point in good time. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. We had some great discussions over lunch. On another note, we met the same guide at Fjellheisen (a magnificent viewpoint) he was leading another tour group, & again at the airport. We recognised each other straight away. So that gives some indication of the trip which was very memorable.
Beautiful scenery and informative; so even when the weather didn’t quite play along it was still a very nice outing.
Well organized, with a 15-seater minibus, we had really nice driver and guide. The guide Eléna is very affable, speaks Spanish, Italian, English and French. He took us to see the most scenic corners on a tour of about 6 hours, with coffee break and lunch in a very nice restaurant, in a wonderful place.

Trip run out of season and therefore didn’t see anything. This trip would be excellent in the summer months but they should not be ripping off tourists in the winter.

Loved this tour because we got to see another area of Norway that was a little bit different from Tromsø. You make stops along the way to Sommarøy so the drive doesn’t feel too long. Elena was an amazing guide - very informative and thoughtful. She also took amazing pictures along the way!
The Sommarøy tour was an incredible experience! We enjoyed a lot! We saw beautiful fjords and the snow on the beach, amazing!! Elena was such a fantastic guide, so friendly and passionate about what she showed us:) She took us beautiful photos with her camera. We were a small and a cozy group and we had hot chocolate with cookies :) This tour is a must if you are in Tromsø! Thank you Elena, for making it unforgettable!

Unfortunately the weather was rainy all day and most of the destinations were too icy for walking but the landscapes were beautiful and the tour guide and driver made the up for it with their enthusiasm.
