Excellent tour, 4 tasting stops - meat, cheese, dessert and ice cream. Lots of info on the Old city as well.
Our guide Jeremy was really friendly and helpful and he made sure to give us all the interesting details about the hiden gems in Lyon.
Jeremy was an excellent tour guide! He really knew what he was talking about and gave wonderful insights into the history of certain foods! Great experience and would definitely recommend!
This was a fabulous informative tour around the old town with more than plenty to eat and drink. Our guide Anais was interesting and friendly. I would highly recommend the tour.
Our tour guide, Nate, was so passionate about the city of Lyon it was almost contagious. We had four stops including wine, charcuterie, cheese, dessert. He discussed the history of how and why Lyon became the food capital of France. Highly recommend this tour and Nate.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and gave us interesting cultural context to the food we sampled.
Hello, Thank you for your review! We're glad you enjoyed discovering Lyon through both its gastronomy and its cultural heritage 😊 Our food tours are designed to go beyond the tastings themselves, helping visitors understand the history, traditions and local culture behind each specialty, so it's great to hear you appreciated that approach. If you're already missing Lyon's flavours, feel free to follow us on Instagram @lyonfoodtour 🍴
Our guide was excellent but the event lacked warmth and embrace from the hosts. We felt like we were just part of a timed process. “Do Not Come in to our shop” was the vibe at the cheese store, the ice cream stop and the silk establishment. Very expensive activity for what was offered
Hello, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're very sorry to hear that the experience did not fully meet your expectations, especially regarding the welcome you received from some of the venues visited during the tour. We're pleased to know that you enjoyed your guide's company, but we're genuinely saddened that you felt like part of a process rather than a guest. We carefully select our partners and local artisans, and this feeling is not something we usually hear from our guests, as reflected in many of our other reviews. We sincerely apologize if the atmosphere on this particular day came across differently. Your comments are valuable to us, and we will take them into account as we continue working to provide warm, authentic and memorable experiences for all our visitors.
The charcuterie, cheese, and wine were very good. Two of the four offerings were desserts (ice cream and brioche) that did not seem unique to Lyon. For the price, it was too much for too little. The guide gave it his all and I seem to be the lone critic. I ones evaluation depends on travel and cuisine experience.
Hello, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're pleased to hear that you enjoyed the charcuterie, cheese and wine selections, as well as your guide's efforts throughout the tour. We're sorry to learn that the overall experience did not fully meet your expectations. Our goal is to showcase Lyon's culinary heritage through a mix of iconic specialties and local traditions, including some sweeter treats that are closely linked to the city's food culture. We understand, however, that expectations can vary depending on previous travel and food tour experiences. We appreciate your comments and are grateful that you chose to explore Lyon with us.
Nathalie was a fantastic guide, sharing her culinary expertise and historical knowledge with us during a 3-hour walking tour of Lyon. I am very glad to have learned from her on my trip.
This tour was a great way to spend the afternoon. Nathalie was a fantastic guide and the food was delicious! Very glad to have done this tour.
