Description

Not only will you meet Aegina's cat population and get to know how wonderful the Aegean cat breed is, you’ll also gain in-depth knowledge of their home. Best of all is that, by joining this tour, you'll be helping Aegina's cats, because all proceeds will go towards feeding, neutering and offering them vet care. So, book now if you’d like to : know who built Aegina's elegant Neo Classical buildings, explore Aegina's quaint buildings and narrow streets, find out all about the quirky pink tower of Markello (a favourite spot of local cats), see the historically important house of modern Greece's first governor, Jannis Kapodistrias, and be surprised when you learn about where the newly formed government of modern day Greece wrote the first constitution. After tasting some of Aegina’s best pistachios, we’ll pass through the (much loved by cats)busy fish market to reach our final stop - Aegina’s well built, beautiful old orphanage ,which has a completely different function now.

Amazing cat tour of Aegina town.

I LOVED this tour! Sandy was lovely and very knowledgeable. She told me lots of fascinating facts about Aegina's history and showed me many special spots I would never have known to look for otherwise. She of course also introduced me to many of the island's gorgeous cats! It was wonderful to know that by exploring Aegina town I was directly contributing to the local community and helping the many beautiful and sweet stray cats. Highly recommend this tour to anyone that loves cats and wants to know more about the beautiful Aegina.

Fascinating fact, fun and felines.

Sandy was warm, engaging, informative and I really enjoyed my tour. We got to learn some of rich history of Aegina and see some of its historical buildings. We sampled local pistachios and hear about how they are grown and cultivated. We heard about some of the prominent and influential people who lived on the island and got to meet some of the current feline inhabitants and hear their stories. Glad I got to give back to a charity close to my heart, too!
