One of the top highlights of the tour, this peaceful boat ride takes you through the Tortuguero Canals, often called the "Amazon of Costa Rica" for their rich biodiversity. As you glide along the calm waters surrounded by lush vegetation, your guide will help you spot wildlife such as sloths, howler monkeys, iguanas, caimans, and a wide variety of tropical birds. The boat features a roof, comfortable seats, and life jackets, making it an ideal experience for guests of all ages.
11 cables and 9 platforms stretched across the length of the rainforest. The longest cable is 270m long and you will experience heights up to 80m. Here you can enjoy the gripping thrill of the wind in your face watching some of the most spectacular views.
Explore a local souvenir shop with authentic Costa Rican crafts and enjoy a complimentary tasting of freshly brewed coffee and flavored cacao (like caramelized or cinnamon). When available, a short 15-minute walk through the adjacent garden showcases tropical plants such as pineapple, cacao, cinnamon, ylang ylang, and noni. The highlight is a live demonstration of how a banana plantation processing system works, an engaging look at one of Costa Rica’s most important exports.
As we drive through the heart of Puerto Limón, your guide will share engaging stories about the city’s history, culture, and Afro-Caribbean roots. You’ll pass landmarks like Parque Vargas, the lively Municipal Market, the Limon Cathedral, and colorful neighborhoods that reflect the unique rhythm of this coastal city. Our final stop is at Playa Bonita, a relaxed and scenic spot where you can unwind by the ocean. Your tour begins inside the pier, where our guides will be waiting for you with a sign displaying your name. Look for our red shirts for easy identification. We offer pickup right inside the pier, so there’s no need to walk outside the facilities. Timing: Tours are scheduled 30 minutes after your ship docks, with the earliest tour starting at 8:00 AM. Can’t give high enough praise to our tour guide Anah. Not only is her knowledge of Costa Rica culture top tier, but she goes the extra mile to make your trip special. Took pictures of our group throughout the day and shared them free of additional charge. After an amazing time spotting wildlife on the canals and zip lining through the jungle, she took us to a local beach. She helped us navigate the menu and order at a beachside restaurant resulting in some delicious local food. They were flexible even though our ship arrived late. And still managed to fit all the day’s activities in and made sure we made it back to our ship with time to spare! 10’s across the board!

We had an amazing time with our guide, Yen, and our driver, Alex! They showed us so much about the city, surrounding area, culture, agriculture etc. and were so much fun! Our canal ride was very good and we saw numerous howler monkeys, sloths, crocodiles and caimans in addition to many bird species. The guide was great at pointing out things and explaining what we were seeing. Ziplining was a blast and the crew there were so professional and kind. We got to try some of the fruits and coffee of Costa Rica too. Everything about our tour was exceptional. We were sad to say goodbye to our new friends at the end! My friends and husband told me they would try a zip line, if I would . Boy! Did we pick the right one!!! Everyone had a fabulous time and the guides were superb! Jose was our guide on the island and we had a nice boat ride on the canal and a short trip to a banana plantation. Those two were fine, but the zip line will be with us forever! It was thrilling, but without fear. Those guys were real pros and what a ride! The zip line was high, long and fast. Well worth every cent!

Our tour guide Rich and our driver Marvin were amazing. We felt safe the whole time. Zip line was very safe and secure, Rich went above and beyond to make sure we saw animals and took pictures for us. I must do in Costa Rica.

Trip was a full day despite half day booking which was fine with us but plan accordingly. Comfortable rides from place to place and loved zip line and beach. Canal ride was disappointing as we didn’t see much. Tour guide seemed a little inexperienced and struggled with English.

We had an excellent time on our tour! It was very easy to find our guide once we got off the ship. Our tour guide, Ian, was very knowledgable and friendly. The boat tour was super fun and we were able to see sloths, howler monkeys, a crocodile with babies, and several types of birds and lizards. Ziplining was super fun and stunning! We also saw sloths, howler monkeys, and iguanas while ziplining. Our tour guide gave us the option of going to the beach or a small banana plantation/botanic garden and we chose to go to the latter which was very cool. Ian showed us all of the different plants and explained the export of bananas. There was also a gift shop with free coffee samples and lots of cool trinkets. Overall an excellent tour. We were shocked that it was a private tour with just the two of us and a guide. An excellent value for the price. Only thing I would say is make sure to clarify ahead of time what time you are supposed to meet your guide as it can be confusing if ship time is different than local time.
