Chef Alex was a fantastic guide. He offered a quality mix of food, wine, and history. I would highly recommend this tour.
We arrived in Paris in the morning and were planning on having a lovely experience with Chef Alex that evening, but after getting off the plane we received an email that Chef Alex was canceling because something came up. He offered us a cheese tasting for $100 a person instead, or rescheduling dinner for the following week. We ended up with nothing to do on our first night in Paris. What a disappointment. We do not recommend this experience. We recommend booking an experience with someone reliable.
Do NOT book this. We booked 2 months in advance and Chef Alex cancelled on us the day of our reservation was to be 7 plate dinner at 8:15 and instead offered a 4pm wine and cheese with a ridiculous 25 Euro refund! Ridiculous! Fighting with Biator now for a full refund! What a disappointment!
My husband and I were in Paris celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary. We had a 3-course lunch in the Eiffel Tower. Later we met Chef Alex in the Latin Quarter and he walked the group through the Mouffetard Market to his restaurant where we sampled 6 cheeses ( with a delicious baguette) and 3 wines. He taught us how to smell and eat cheese and also that sometimes the French add olive oil or salt and pepper to the cheese. He has the best personality and we really enjoyed ourselves and meeting others in our group.
Hi Chef Alex. Just wanted to follow up from our tasting with you. We thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon!!!!! The food was delectable and enjoyable! I loved your passion for cooking and preparing a meal that was perfection. The spices that were in the dishes were perfectly matched the the main ingredients! Looking forward to your recipes for your mother’s tart and your crème brûlée! Again I have to say I toughly enjoyed the experience. PS already recommended your tasting to another tour guide. Best wishes Jackie and Lorenzo
Chef Alex was interesting and engaging. We learned so much more than just details of the cheese and wine. It was a tour de force in French gastronomic culture.
So informative, so fun....absolutely delicious selection of cheeses and wines to enjoy. Alex was a great 'host' and met some lovely fellow participants. Would highly recommend.
If you like food, wine and history this tour has it all. Chef Alex is super knowledgeable and friendly and you can tell by the way he explains about food that he really has a passion for it. One of the best things we did in Paris.
Alex is an excellent host and explained the history and culture of French food. He took us to Rue Mouffetard and show us several high quality food boutiques. There was also lovely and unique art work along the way. Alex’s sense of humor and story telling made this an unforgettable experience.
The experience with Alex was very interesting. Despite knowing Paris well, she showed me a part I didn't know where I will definitely return. Alex is a food lover, unfortunately I could not eat in his restaurant, but when I return I will definitely do so. Thank you for giving us this afternoon with great cheeses and great wines, but above all for giving us some of the beautiful French culture.
