7-Day North Tanzania Classic Safari

I shared with 5 Dutch people a first safari in the Northern Parks. Our guide Herry did a wonderful job! Because of his excellent experience we saw the big five! He always made sure to have nice seats in the front row to admire the wildlife! It tastes like more!!

A superb wildlife experience. Christopher & Warren are two amazing people and I Dream of Africa is the perfect company wether its your first or 10th experience in nature. Christopher (the guide) is simply a gem, nothing is too much trouble and he tailors the day to your individual requirements. He's also a true wildlife lover and is probably one of the few in Tanzania that genuinely respects the animals natural habitat and given this is the wild and not a zoo, we should all remember to be grateful that people like Chris are our their, looking to be sustainable, protect and preserve all that we love about this planet and especially the wildlife in Africa. I can only highly recommend "I dream of Africa". We had a great week with Warren, who was the best company one can wish - very well informed about every detail, very gut organised, very reliabel, responsible and with a good sense of humour. The trip was wonderful in every aspect: the accommodations were always a pleasant surprise, wonderful lodges outside the parks and romantic camps inside the parks, always with every comfort and delicious food. Warren succeeded in finding places away from the tourist crowds and had a magic way to spot animals, to know where they could be, what they will do and payed respect to their rest times as well. We owe "I dream of Africa" and Warren a great experience we will never forget.

We (6 people) have made a great Safari accompanied by the experienced and super sympathetic Guide Christopher. We visited the main parks and stayed in the most beautiful locations.

Chris is the guide you want! He is very knowledgeable about all kinds of flora and fauna and able to spot animals from an incredible distance. And it’s not just that— he can predict where they were going to move, so he can put his Land Rover in the prime spot and give you a perfect view! Other guides we met along the way seemed to respect him a lot! On the planning side, Chris listened carefully to what we (parents plus 11 year old daughter) were hoping for and designed a Safari that was absolutely magical and delightful for us. In addition to knowing nature, Chris knows where the best lodges are and included places we considered among the best we had ever stayed in anywhere. (We highly recommend then Ngorongoro Lodge on the rim of the crater!). He also gives you great insights into Tanzanian society and economy and helps you support locally owned businesses too (of which his is one). We feel extremely fortunate that our friend had recommended Chris to us!

We did a 6 day safari as a group of 2 women with Christopher and his son Warren and it was amazing. Everything was perfectly organised, from picking us up at the airport to saying goodbye in Arusha. Our guides were incredibly welcoming and planned safaris to our wishes every day. The selected hotels were always nice, especially the camps in the national parks! Christopher is a genius when it comes to wildlife viewing. It's just amazing how he discovers every animal while driving, no matter how far away or well hidden. So we were mostly alone as the only safari car at ingenious places like lion packs, jaguars or cheetahs. In addition, Christopher has an unlimited knowledge about the behavior of animals. We two guests had very different wishes for the safari (one wanted to see cats, the other the migration of steppe animals), Christopher fulfilled them both perfectly balanced (in fact we were between a migration and were able to watch a cheetah calling his brother). We were very happy to have done the safari with I dream of Africa, because firstly we had the most beautiful safari, and secondly we were able to support local people from Tanzania instead of large companies where you sometimes also have young and not yet so experienced guides gets assigned. I would 100% recommend Christopher's company "I dream of africa" ​​to anyone considering a safari in Tanzania. I will definitely come back. Thank you for everything!

I recently completed a 10 day safari of Tanzania with two couples. We chose Christopher Samwell and I Dream of Africa at the recommendation of friends who had wonderful prior experiences with them. Our safari was amazing! Christopher was a fantastic guide and exceedingly knowledgeable about the animals (including every bird and insect!), the land and its history. We toured Lake Manyara, The Serengeti (North and Central, mostly), The Ngorongoro crater and the Tarangire parks. Christopher picked us up at Kilimanjaro airport on our arrival day and stayed with us until we departed as friends 10 days later. Our every need was catered to wherever we stayed, including food allergies. We experienced remarkable food and service at all of our camps and lodges. In fact, the tented lodges seemed to be as or more customer-focused as most 4 and 5 star hotels here in the States. As a guide, Christopher is truly remarkable. We had been told we'd be fortunate to see a leopard. Christopher spotted 4 of them in 4 different locations. He's not the guide that listens to the radio and rushes in to see the big cats that others find for him (as so many seem to be). He's the guy who finds the animals for the other guides. Throughout our safari, we kept thinking how fortunate we were to choose Christopher and his company. We saw every animal we wished to see numerous times. There were no negatives to this trip and I will be returning in the future with my children to experience what we did. Thank you, Christopher!

There is simply nothing that would not have pleased! I have been to Kenya several times, spent 3 months in South Africa, but what Christopher and Warren offer is just perfect! From the first contact via email to the farewell, where I had tears in my eyes. It was the most beautiful trip of my life and I will be back 100%. Of course, I dream of Africa is booked again. I am happy that I chose a local Enterprise - and I would recommend this to everyone! If we want to visit the country, then we should do something for local 'industry' and not pay Europeans or Americans. Christopher chose us wonderful accommodations, including great camps - it was pure Africa feeling! All our wishes were fulfilled - we saw the Big5 several times, Kilimanjaro, the jungle, "cats" in abundance, I even noticed the migration despite the already unfavourable season. Aaaahhhh... I still feel inspired by happiness when I write this. I can only say once and a thousand times: THANK YOU for the great experience! I'll be back!
