6 Days Trekking - Machame Route - Kilimanjaro

Before our 7-day safari, we did a one-day hike on the Machame Route of Mount Kilimanjaro. It was quite challenging, but we really enjoyed it. The start was a bit delayed because the guide, and specially the driver, arrived late at the meeting point. The route, through the rain forest is beautiful, and from the Machame Huts, we could see the top of the kilimanjaro mountain between the clouds. We had a nice and complete lunch box there. We also saw a troop of blue monkeys in our way down. The guide Modest and the driver Johnny were very kind. On the way down, we had to speed up because the guide wasn't sure if we would make it to the exit gate in time. Finally, we arrived with enough time to spare. Overall, it was a great experience, and we would definitely recommend this activity

In October, I completed a 6-day trek on the Machame Route—and it was unforgettable! Everything was organized flawlessly. My sister and I decided to hike Kilimanjaro in November 2025, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions of our entire Tanzania trip!! We successfully reached Uhuru Peak, and the experience was absolutely epic. I truly encourage everyone to try this at least once in your lifetime;) It was a challenging climb, but it became deeply meaningful because of my family and the amazing team we hiked with. Our lead guide, Fredy, supported us from start to finish, and we genuinely could not have summited without him. He has many many years of Kilimanjaro guiding experience, and he was perfect for us because we ask tons of questions. He patiently answered every single one with expert knowledge. I’m convinced that we avoided altitude sickness thanks to his guidance. ①setting the perfect pace ②giving the right advice ③telling us exactly when to take Diamox.
