If you want an intense, fast-paced experience, the 6 Days Machame Route with Burigi Chato Safaris is the way to go. The landscapes are just insane, changing from jungle to moonscape in no time. This 6 Days Machame Route is perfect for anyone on a tight schedule who still wants the best views. The hiking along the ridges was totally breathtaking
I’ve just returned from the 6 Days Machame Route and it was quite an extraordinary effort. The chaps at Burigi Chato Safaris were brilliantly organized, keeping us all in good spirits even when the weather was a bit dodgy. It’s a demanding 6 Days Machame Route if I’m honest, but standing at Uhuru Peak for sunrise was simply marvelous. The climbing part of the final summit push was the most grueling thing I’ve ever done.
1. Burigi Chato Safaris are absolute legends for the 6 Days Machame Route. My legs were well and truly cooked by the end, but the vibe from the crew was spot on. The 6 Days Machame Route is a fair dinkum challenge since you’re moving fast, but the tucker at camp was heaps better than I expected. I really loved the hiking through the clouds on those first few days
you’re looking at the 6-day Machame route, just know it’s a total beast. I’m from the States and do a fair amount of hiking, but nothing prepares you for that summit night. We were hiking in the dark for hours, freezing and exhausted, and I honestly don't think I would’ve made it to Uhuru Peak without our guides. They literally stayed a step away from me the whole time, keeping the energy up when I wanted to quit. The setup Burigi Chato has is legit. We’d roll into camp after a long day of trekking through the rain or dust, and our tents were already up and our bags were waiting. The porters are the hardest working people I’ve ever met—they’d pass us on the trail with huge loads and still have a smile for us. And the food was actually decent, which was a surprise. We had hot soup, pasta, and even fresh fruit, which is wild considering where we were. The Barranco Wall was probably my favorite part—it’s a bit of a scramble and gets your heart racing, but it's way more fun than just walking on a flat trail. The 6-day schedule is tight, and you definitely feel the "climb high, sleep low" strategy working, though the altitude is no joke. If you want a team that actually knows what they’re doing and treats you like more than just a paycheck, these are the guys. Huge thanks to the whole crew for getting our group to the top and back in one piece.
I joined the 6 Days Machame Route Kilimanjaro group hiking and climbing tour with Burigi Chato Safaris and honestly it was an experience I will never forget. The Kilimanjaro climb is not easy at all, but the way this team handled everything made a big difference. The 6 day itinerary felt right from the beginning. First day walking through the rainforest on the Machame route was already amazing and a bit tiring too. Every day of the Kilimanjaro climb was different and challenging in its own way. The 6 day itinerary gave enough time to adjust to altitude even though summit night was still very tough. What I liked most was the group vibe. We didn’t know each other at the start, but after a few days on the mountain we became close. The guides from Burigi Chato Safaris were calm, patient and always checking on everyone. On summit night the group vibe really helped, people encouraging each other step by step in the dark and cold. The Machame route is beautiful but demanding. During the 6 day itinerary, camps were well set, food was good (better than expected honestly) and the porters worked very hard. Summit night was long, slow, and painful 😅 but standing at Uhuru Peak made everything worth it. If you are thinking about a Kilimanjaro climb on the Machame route, I truly recommend Burigi Chato Safaris. It felt real, not rushed, not fake. Just a solid team, strong group vibe, and a proper 6 Days Machame Route experience. I would climb with them again for sure. Asante sana to the whole crew 🏔️🙏
I joined 6 day machame group joining safari and it was truly unforgettable...6 day machame route itinerary real give me chance to stand on the roof of Africa.i would appreciate burigi chato safaris for making safari achievable for all 10 people in our group reached the peak.
The 6-day Machame route itinerary is definitely intense and keeps you moving, but I honestly loved the fast pace. I just got back to Moshi, and I’m still wondering from the experience. Following the 6-day Machame route itinerary meant we were constantly seeing new landscapes, from the deep rainforest to the dusty high deserts, and it felt like a non-stop adventure.Even though the 6-day Machame route itinerary is physically demanding, especially when you hit the Barranco Wall, the scenery is so distracting that you almost forget how tired you are.I went into this as a solo traveler, but the group experience was what really saved me. We started as strangers, but by the third night of huddled dinners in the mess tent, we were like a family. Having those guys to laugh with when things got tough made the whole Kilimanjaro climb feel like a shared mission rather than a lonely struggle. The team at Burigi Chato Safaris was so supportive, always checking in on us and making sure we were hydrated. This Kilimanjaro climb was easily the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but the views from the Machame route are just incredible. Standing at the peak with my group at sunrise was a moment I'll be thinking about for the rest of my life.
I just got back from climbing Kilimanjaro with Burigi Chato safaris and wow... what an experiance. We did the 6 day Machame route (whisky route) and it was way harder then I thought but so worth it. Our lead guide was amazing, always checking on us and yelling "pole pole" whenever we tried to go to fast lol. The food was actually really good for being on a mountain? We had hot soup every night which was a lifesaver because it gets freezing at night specially at Barafu camp. I was a bit worried booking online but the communication with the office was great and they picked us up from the airport on time. One small thing—the 6 day route is very steep and we skiped the rest day at Karanga, so my legs were basically jello by the time we hit the summit. If your not a regular hiker maybe do the 7 day one instead. The porters are the real MVPs though, they carry all the heavy gear and still beat you to camp with a smile. Massive thanks to the whole Burigi Chato team for geting me to Uhuru peak at sunrise. I'll never forget that view! Bring more wet wipes than you think you need and definitely rent the heavy sleeping bag from them if yours isn't warm enough.
Just finished the 6-day Machame route with Burigi Chato Safaris and it was life-changing! I was nervous about joining a random group, but the vibes were amazing and the team was so professional. The food was surprisingly good (lots of soups to keep you going), and the guides kept a perfect "pole pole" (slow) pace that got us all to Uhuru Peak for sunrise. For the price, the service was unbeatable. If you’re looking for an affordable way to climb Kili without feeling like you’re "budgeting" on safety, book with these guys!
Fantastic 6-day Machame trek! Burigi Chato Safaris ran a very tight ship. Our guides were professional and encouraging, the food was delicious and plentiful, I especially loved the ginger tea on the third night!!! and the logistics were handled perfectly. The 6-day route is a challenge, but the acclimatization plan provided by the team worked perfectly for us. For those looking for a high-quality experience at a great price, I would recommend their affordable group-joining tours, which are perfect for meeting other hikers and keeping costs down without sacrificing service. If you are planning a Kilimanjaro climb, I confidently recommend booking with Burigi Chato Safaris. Truly an unforgettable trip.
