5 Days Dahabiya Nile River Cruise from Luxor to Aswan

Worst Nile Cruise Experience – False Advertising and Zero Luxury This was by far the worst travel experience we have ever had, and calling it a “5-day luxury Nile cruise” is completely misleading and dishonest. 1. Selling a 5-day luxury cruise but delivering a cheap 4-day trip This company advertises and charges for a 5-day luxury cruise from Luxor to Aswan, but what they actually provide is essentially a 4-day budget cruise. The Luxor–Aswan journey itself was rushed and finished in just 3 days, and the fourth day was wasted half day at Aswan remote port and half day sailing back to Edfu. This change was made without any prior notice or explanation. On the final day, we had to wake up early around 6:30Am and endure a 2-hour car ride back to Aswan Airport, which completely defeats the purpose of paying for a cruise ending in Aswan. 2. “Luxury” with no electricity, no hot water, and poor food Despite paying luxury prices, the onboard conditions were unacceptable: • Electricity was available for only a few hours a day • No electricity after 10 pm at night, forcing us to use the bathroom in complete darkness • No hot water after 10 p.m. • Food quality was limited, with very limited meat options, often only one choice and sometimes clearly rationed This is not luxury by any standard. 3. Remote and filthy docking locations The boat frequently docked in remote locations, requiring guests to walk along unpaved roads filled with trash just to get on or off the ship. This felt unsafe, unhygienic, and completely inconsistent with a premium cruise experience. 4. Uninformed guide The guide clearly did not know the actual itinerary. One of the important sites listed in the plan, Gebel el Silsila, was completely skipped. When we pointed this out, the guide suggested visiting the Aswan High Dam instead, not even realizing that the High Dam was already included in the itinerary. This level of disorganization and lack of knowledge was astonishing. In summary, this company sells a 5-day luxury cruise but delivers a shortened, low-quality budget experience. The advertising is misleading, the service is unprofessional, and the overall experience was deeply disappointing. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company: Roxana Travel.

Wonderful cruise on the Turquoise Dahabya Great way to sail down the Nile. The food was delicious, the crew very attentive. The sites of Egypt’s past were breathtaking and our tour guide Mohamed Eldahesh was very knowledgeable. His stories made the ancient ruins come alive. It was 5 days that went very fast, although at times a little too fast at other times extremely quiet and relaxing floating along the Nile. A very memorable trip. Highly recommended. Maria and Luis

It was such a memorable journey, during which we visited almost all major attractions along the Nile. Our tour guide, Mr. Ahmed, had tailored perfect itinerary for us, which provided efficient routes for sightseeings and sufficient time for relaxing. Also, the entire crew on the Dahabiya, Mr Ben, provides top-class services during our entire trip. Thanks for making the whole trip very comfortable and relaxing. Hope I will visit Egypt again.

My favorite experience was in Siwa, the 4x4 Experience, Amun Raa temple, piramids in Giza and the cruise, Abu Simbel temple was beautiful. Travel by the mediterranea sea was a great experience too.

This trip showed me all the best of Egypt and made me very excited to come and our guide mohamed has been the best guide we could touch, because the destination wanted us to be with Mohamed and Mohamed treated us very well, but it was the best trip I have had so far and I hope to travel again in this company because it was excellent.
