Step 1: The tour starts with the east coast of the island, with its beautiful black sandy beaches and famous surf spots! Throughout the route, there will be 5-10 minute stops for taking photos, information given by the guide, etc.
STEP 2: Discover Tahiti from a unique angle! The tour begins with the east coast of the island, with its beautiful black sand beaches and famous surf spots, before entering the heart of the Papenoo Valley, Tahiti’s largest valley. This immersion in the lush nature of the island will offer you the opportunity to discover its essence in an authentic and unique way. The tour is commented with stops at several remarkable sites, offering breathtaking scenery up to Caldera, an extinct volcanic crater that gave birth to Tahiti Nui. You will be amazed by the majestic waterfalls, lush green mountains, lush vegetation, and local flora and fauna. The guide will share fascinating stories about myths and legends, marae, and the island’s rich cultural and historical heritage.
STEP 3: After traveling halfway around the island and reaching Caldera, the excursion continues with a visit to the authentic village of Fare Hape, a place full of history where you will discover the traditional life of the inhabitants of Tahiti (marae, fare, Tahitian oven, etc.). Before departure, it is strongly recommended to bring a sandwich or snack for lunch. For this we will stop at a supermarket where you can buy what you need. Lunch will take place in an authentic and picturesque setting in the village of Fare Hape, where you can enjoy a well-deserved break. It is also strongly recommended to bring a personal bottle of water or bottles of water, to stay well hydrated during the excursion. A little surprise awaits you to immerse yourself more in Polynesian culture for a moment of conviviality and sharing.
STEP 4: The adventure continues with a stop at the tunnel connecting the East Coast to the West Coast, offering spectacular views of Vaihiria, Tahiti’s only natural high-altitude lake. You will then cross the whole island before returning to the starting point.

This excursion allows you to discover the interior of Tahiti Nui from north to south. You cross the island passing through the volcano's caldera. The landscapes are spectacular: the river, the waterfalls, the vegetation, and the mountains. The guide is very professional and friendly, and a formidable driver, because not just anyone can drive on that road. It crosses valleys and goes down and up steep paths. In the middle of the tour there is a very pretty village and you can swim in the river that runs next to it.
This tour was such a special experience! Léonie is a warm, caring, insightful guide with an abundance of knowledge on the history, culture and lore of Tahiti. The trip is beautiful, climbing high through the Papenoo valley in a Safari style truck with panoramic views at every stop. We learnt so much about the history and techniques of ancient and modern Tahitian Culture. Each stop had new stories and it's clear that Léonie has a passion for sharing Tahiti. It's also clear that Léonie has a passion for sharing kindness! She gave amazing recommendations for future experiences (which we highly enjoyed!) and she answered every question that we could come up with. Make sure to book in ahead of time as this tour is very popular for a reason, and you definitely don't want to miss it!
This was a really good excursion. We saw a lot of really cool things and learned a ton about the culture too. The owner of the company, Leonie drove us around. She took care to spend time sharing her culture with us. We had a fantastic time.

Great day with breathtaking landscapes. Tahiti mountain side, a must-do. Thanks to our guide who shared his knowledge of Tahitian flora, he told us the history of Tahiti, its culture, its gods, its archipelagos and their discovery by great navigators, etc...
Manual was an excellent guide and driver. He really helped us learn about the indigenous plants and medicines and culture. He shared his history which was fascinating how far back he can trace. The road is insanely bumpy so be warned. We stopped at a restaurant for lunch which was nice but if you are a vegetarian you may want to bring your own

Beautiful scenery but hang on for the rugged ride. Guide friendly and courteous. The stops for food at the grocery store very helpful. The lunch picnic spot was a relaxing break halfway through the drive. Highly recommend.
This tour was absolutely fabulous and we would highly recommend this tour! Our guide T’mauve (not sure spelling) was the most knowledgeable and we learned so much about the Tahitian culture. He educated us on all the nature and all the beauty of Tahiti!
