4-Night, 5-Star Nile Cruise from Luxor to Aswan

​The Good: Overall, our Nile cruise was a fantastic experience that exceeded our expectations. The ship’s environment was incredibly welcoming and had a great atmosphere. A huge shoutout to the staff, who were consistently friendly, polite, and went out of their way to tend to our needs throughout the journey. ​ The Not-So-Good: However, there are a few areas where the experience fell short: ​Cleanliness: We were disappointed to find that the floor in our room was dirty upon arrival. ​Wi-Fi: Connectivity was quite limited, as it was only available at the reception desk rather than in the cabins. ​​Guided Tours: Our specific guide was a bit of a mixed bag. While he was friemdly, he did not seem particularly knowledgeable about the sites and was quite pushy in social situations. On several occasions, he tried to force the group to dance or participate in activities even when it was clear the vibe was more laid-back and people weren't interested. It felt a bit intrusive rather than encouraging. ​ Important Tip on Gratuities: The biggest adjustment for us was the tipping culture. It became quite burdensome, and there is constant pressure to tip at every turn. Be prepared for staff to occasionally ask for more if they feel the tip isn't sufficient. ​Make sure to budget at least $100 extra per person for the duration of the cruise specifically for tips to avoid any awkwardness. ​ Despite the hiccups with the guide and the room, I would still recommend this cruise for the service and the overall experience. Just come prepared for the extra costs and the "reception-only" Wi-Fi!

This was a fantastic experience seeing places across Egypt, learning the history and getting to relax as you sail along the river. The guide was informative and friendly. The itinerary is packed out so if you are just looking for a relax this might not be for you but if you're looking for an adventure it is very much worth it. Our 5-day, 4-night Nile cruise booked through Nile Holiday with our guide Al Tayeb was genuinely one of the most unforgettable travel experiences we’ve ever had. From start to finish, everything was organised seamlessly, allowing us to fully relax and enjoy every moment of the journey. A huge part of what made this trip so special was Al Tayeb himself. He is incredibly knowledgeable about Egyptian history and culture, and he brought every temple and historical site to life with fascinating stories and explanations. On top of that, he has a fantastic sense of humour and kept the entire group entertained throughout the trip. Nothing ever felt stressful because he handled everything so smoothly and always made sure we were comfortable, informed, and having a great time. The cruise itself was amazing — waking up each day to beautiful Nile views, visiting breathtaking temples, enjoying relaxing boat rides, and experiencing so many unique activities along the way. Every stop felt memorable, and the balance between sightseeing and relaxation was perfect. From the incredible ancient temples to the warm hospitality and unforgettable scenery, this is absolutely a must-do holiday for anyone visiting Egypt. We cannot recommend Nile Holiday and Al Tayeb highly enough. Truly an unforgettable experience!

My husband and myself were planning to go to Egypt for some time. We finally made it. We were impressed from the first day of our tour until the last day. We traveled to Luxor and was met by our guide Azab. He was an excellent egyptologist who explained the sites and wonders of the Karnak Temple, the Great Hypostyle Hall, the majestic obelisks of Queen Hatshepsut and Tuthmosis I. I would recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in ancient Egyptian history.

A seamless experience from airport pickup to dropoff for a return flight. The well-run operation ensured that I was comfortable at all times. Because I booked to many additional excursions, they had to adjust the agenda and even made special arrangements for me to have dinner on the ship long after serving hours after one long excursion. I chose a small ship which made for an intimate experience with no crowds or waiting in lines. The staff was exceptional. The ship was older but well cared for. My private guide even stayed on the ship with me and ensured that I got the most out of the journey including passage through the Esna Lock. Having detailed explanations of all the sites explained made the experience that much more meaningful and rich. The organizational efficiency made everything smooth and without annoyance or incidents.

We booked our dahabiya cruise with Nile Holiday from October 11th to 15th, and we truly couldn’t have made a better choice! From the moment we arrived, everything was absolutely perfect. We were warmly welcomed on board by the incredible crew and our amazing guide, Azab, who accompanied us throughout the journey. The hospitality was second to none, from the cheerful greetings and crew introductions to the delicious welcome cocktails, we felt at home right away. Each day was a dream: waking up to breathtaking views of the Nile, enjoying peaceful moments on the deck, and being pampered by the wonderful crew. A special mention goes to the chef, whose meals were hands down the most authentic and delicious we had during our entire stay in Egypt! Our excursions were just as unforgettable, from majestic temples and ancient tombs to charming local villages and the awe-inspiring obelisk. And through it all, Azab was the heart of our experience. His kindness, patience, and deep knowledge of both ancient and modern Egypt brought every moment to life. He didn’t just guide us, he taught us, shared stories, explained traditions, and even introduced us to local customs and language. Thanks to him, we didn’t just visit Egypt, we lived it. We are beyond grateful for this unforgettable journey. If you're looking to truly experience Egypt, to learn, to relax, and to travel in style aboard a 5-star dahabiya with privacy and comfort (we had a stunning suite with a private terrace!) this is the trip for you. 10 out of 10, highly recommended!

What an amazing trip! We got picked up at the hotel in Luxor by an energetic guide. We were able to start the tour straight away, keeping our baggage in the car during the first day. Our guide, Azab, was incredibly friendly and helpful from start to finish. He had a great understanding of Egyptian history, backed by a strong academic background with a master's degree in the field. The boat, a Dahabiya through Nile Holiday, was absolutely charming. The crew were super friendly and helpful; they even held a party for us and arranged a stop so we could swim in the Nile. And the food? It was the absolute best! Always well-prepared with various local dishes—I have never been so full. For the best experience on the river Nile, ask for Azab at Nile Holidaybs!

Our trip on the Dahabiya with Nile Holiday has been excellent! Very good acommodation on a lovely wooden boat, with a friendly crew and amazing local food. The cruise included all major sightseeing along the Nile from Luxor to Aswan, and I can really not recommend this way of sightseeing Egypt enough. Watching beautiful landscapes all day, and colourful sunsets on the Nile in the evening. Our guide Azab was vert knowledgeable, and made the excursions interesting, fun and insightful! Azab and the crew was also very flexible. 10/10 would recommend!

Traveling with Nile holiday is something I recommend to absolutely everyone. Not only do you get to see amazing temples and sights, traveling on board a Dahabiya is an amazing experience in and of itself. The landscape and animal life along the Nile is beautiful and the atmosphere is truly relaxing. The crew on board made our trip extra special thanks to their amazing hospitality. We enjoyed delicious local food every day. Our guide Mr. Azab was also very knowledgeable and helpful. He could always answer our questions, and we had many interesting conversations about Egyptian history. Two experiences I especially recommend: visiting Abu Simbel, and going for a swim in the Nile.
