Description

Mount Meru is the fifth highest mountain in Africa At 4,566 m. It is a great mountain to climb and offers spectacular scenery including the view of Mount Kilimanjaro. The Mt Meru ascent passes through many different vegetation zones. The dry forest of the lower region changes to a dense mountain rainforest, which then turns into scrubland. Closer to the summit, vegetation becomes less and less and gives way to alpine terrain. The mountain is less congested compared to Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Kenya counterparts. No wonder it is absolutely marvelous to enjoy 3 nights and 4 days mount Meru climb in Tanzania. During the ascent, you might come across large game such as giraffes, buffaloes, baboons, colobus monkeys and antelopes. To be safe, it is obligatory to be accompanied by an armed park ranger on your tour.

Amazing hike to mount meru

I had a great hike with Afromasai Eastern Safaris. The communication beforehand was quick and uncomplicated. I had a very experienced team at my side, who supported me well, especially at the end, so that I reached the summit safely. The view was fantastic and on our way back we encountered some animals, such as giraffes and buffaloes. I can definitely recommend Afromasai Eastern Safaris.
