Discover the wonders of nature on the Ria Formosa and be amazed and dazzled by this fragile and complex ecosystem considered to be one of Portugal's seven wonders, a place to be visited and preserved. On this tour you will have the opportunity to observe the Natural Park of the Ria Formosa navigating through its channels. You will walk on white sands and sail through the calm waters of the Ria Formosa. We will have a lovely stop on a desert island where you can have a swim, relax and walk on the beach with wonderful white sand. Then we stop at one of the island communities. Can be Ilha do Farol or Ilha da Culatra. Throughout the tour the skipper will give a detailed explanation of the entire Ria Formosa, its fauna and flora and its fishing activities.

Navigate through the calm waters of the Ria Formosa with a skipper on board who gives you all the explanations about the Ria Formosa, the fauna and flora, and the fishing activities. We make 2 stops to be able to relax, swim or walk a little.
Culatra Island is a very typical and genuine village of mostly fisherman that inhabit the island all year through, with lots of interest and cultural aspects.
With the biggest inlet of water of all the Ria Formosa and being near the cape of Santa Maria, the most southern point of Portugal, these island has an extremely beauty marked by its imposing lighthouse.

We had a really enjoyable boat tour with Daniel who was generous with his explanations of the local geography, fishing and the city’s history. A swim in the Atlantic followed by clams and sardines at one of the restaurants. Thank you to Daniel and Maria!

From booking to returning to the harbor, everything was more than perfect. The welcome at the meeting point was super warm, our guide gave us so much information, and the beaches were beautiful. 3 hours that we will never forget. We had a great boat trip today to desert island for a swim and then farol. The boat was high quality and easy to use. Daniel is an excellent guide who knows the Ria Formosa like the back of his hand. His local knowledge of the people, history and nature of the islands and lagoons was fantastic. A great day out and we feel a greater connection with the islands now. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful Views and very informative, Daniel was a very nice person with lots of interesting local knowledge, Nothing was too much trouble. The island was beautiful and we would recommend going inland a bit to taste the local fresh fish rather than the tourist traps as you step off the boat offering burgers and chips!

We had the best time! Daniel was so knowledgeable and went above and beyond when he found out we were interested in marine wildlife. He was just amazing. If you are considering a tour to the islands, we would say this one was a must. We give it 11/10⭐️

We had an incredible experience. Daniel was our guide and boat captain. He gave just enough details as we went along making the experience rich and navigated our children's level of understanding and attention span perfectly. He found special wildlife to show our children and even let them "drive" the boat. The villages on the barrier islands were quaint and even in, and perhaps because of, the off season they had unique charm. This tour was the highlight of our trip to the Algarve!

Our guide was super nice and told exciting things about the region. But beware, we were on the island for over 2 hours and did not look at any birds. So if you want to see something of the Ria Formosa, you should choose another tour
Thank you for your review and evaluation. I understand the désappointement of not seeing any bird on the island, but I can explain. The birds are not on the islands the birds are on the Ria Formosa secondary channels and are eating on the margins of the shellfish farms when the tide is low. For a bird watching tour we have to have two important details. Low tide and no wind. This 3 hour tour was not a bird watching tour. I advice everyone if you want a bird watching tour contact us to get the details and book you on a specific tour. I'm glad you liked the tour and that this subject about birds was mentioned.
