3 Days Ancient Capital Cities

Just finished this tour and had a marvelous time. The driver was very flexible and highlighted the things I wanted to see most to personalize my trip. It was also nice being able to book my own hotels so I knew exactly what I was getting. After the bombings in Colombo a curfew was imposed and I couldn't get online for a few days but other than that it didn't impact my trip. There is a noticeable presence of the military and police force at tourist destinations which gave a sense of security.

I joined three days ancient city tour with the guide Dushantha. He was always safety driving and kindly guiding me everywhere we went. He is the greatest guide! I really enjoyed thanks to his all help. His advice always helped me. I enjoyed talking with him during the tour. He know various activities, very tasty local foods and especially good fruits. I never forget this trip in Sri Lanka. I bought a tour to the 3 Ancient Capitals of Sri Lanka that I thought it is going to be guided by a regular guide. The price was reasonable but by surprise, instead of having a guided tour we just had a driver to drive us to the places we visited. We could visit the 3 Ancient Capitals as the tour promised but we had to take a local guide to explain us the history. The car was clean an new, the driver was polite and very punctual.

There were a number of ancient temples off the beaten track which I wished to visit in the northern half of Sri Lanka. While trains and buses get you to main hubs, the sites I wanted to visit were only accessible by car, and some like the Pidurangala Rock for a 5am sunrise hike necessitated special arrangements. I found Kingfisher Tours thru TRIPADVISOR and these guys really turned out to be a lifesaver for my trip. They were totally accommodating and flexible and able to offer me a tour guide for my desired itinerary on last minute notice. The car was roomy with good a/c/ and the guide spoke English and offered information on all of the regions we drove through, sharing a true love for their country. Because of their willingness to go the extra mile, I was able to squeeze in with ample roam time - sites around Dambulla, Sigiriya, Pollonaruwa, and Anuradhapura. There was no time wasted on fake tourist oriented visits and when I wanted to add a few extra visits, they were amenable to the last minute changes. We also got to see some wild elephants from afar on the road alongside the national parks which astride the area. Most hotels offer accommodation for the drivers so you can choose your own hotels and determine the whole schedule according to your needs. This a a great feature from tour group trips which set your schedule and give you no choice. I prefer to tailor my own wanderings around the country. Thanks a lot, Kingfisher!
