Perfect flawless tour for great value!

This tour was perfect! Everything you want from a tour: - promptly pickup in the morning - very comfortable bus rides both ways with plenty of toilet stops - friendly and informative staff - friendly and knowledgeable trekking guides from the local village, who spoke outstanding English! - delicious included meals at good restaurants - lovely hotel (3.5*) that well exceeded our expectations Highly recommended!

Do not use this tour

This tour was painful. No one spoke English so you were clueless to what was happening step by step. You didn’t even know how long the bathroom break was going to be while driving. Then I was forced to sit in the back seat, which was the worst and bumpiest ride ever. The driver was crazy driving fast and texting and I was thrown up and down on the seat with how bad the driving was. I was not allowed to be in the normal seat in the luxury vehicle I paid for because apparently they were reserved for only Asian people. There was no option to allow me to be in a normal seat when booking. I had to sit through that awful ride for 6 hours each way. Then there is no one speaking English so you don’t know what the next step is when you get dropped off at the hotel. The itinerary is not clear. I didn’t know if I needed to meet the guide somewhere or the guide was picking me up. The guide was ok at first but you have to trek an unnecessary amount of distance from your hotel rather than spend time meeting in the city. The five star hotel I chose was way up on a hill so I had to trek over two miles more. Then the tour makes you go eat dinner somewhere else after a Terrible 6 hour drive and 8km trekking. If I’m in a five star hotel I should get my meal there instead of trekking solo to find another NON five star hotel for food. My foot was swollen and I opted to not trek and take a taxi to the city and walk a bit the next day. I cancelled my guide and the tour company informed me the guide was aware it was cancelled. Then the guide shows up to the hotel and calls my room 3 times in a row to ask me the same question if the tour is cancelled. I said yes three times. Half hour later the guide comes knocking on my hotel door. I thought it was house keeping and she was pushing my door open asking me about if I cancelled with her for the day once again!!!! This was unbelievable that the five star hotel Pao Sapa let the guide know which room I was in!!!!! What a complete invasion of privacy. Not happy and would not ever use this tour or stay at Pao Sapa.

Dear Mr/Mrs Yahfare, Thank you for your review about the service. Thank you so much for your comment. We do apologize for some inconvenience that you met. We are trying our best to improve! I have some explanations: - We arranged seats the customers in order following the date of booking day. Maybe you booked last minutes so you will be arranged in a back seat. We are so sorry for this. - About Sapa tour, we already published our program very clear on our website ( the itinerary, the guide, hotel,food,...) We arranged a local guide from Sapa to help you understand more about our culture, ethnic people's life in Sapa, not a tour guide from another city. - Sapa is suitable for trekking so that walking/trekking must be a lot, that's why you need to prepare for trekking long distance. We always arrange a tour/ tour guide before your departure so when you cancel the tour last minutes, our tour guide have to receive the exact confirmation from so I think this made you annoy. - About hotel, I sure that Pao Hotel is one of best 5 star hotel. Last but not least, if we have a chance, we definitely sure that we will improve our services and serve you better! Hope you still enjoy this travelling! Kind regards, Linda

Trekking to Sapa.

Was very hot in April, trekking could be hazardous if you are 60 and above. Bring a walking stick. Construction on the road so it was very dusty. The hotel I chose was changed with out previous notification. The replacement was not at par with my first choice of hotel.

The tour alone was an unforgettable...

The tour alone was an unforgettable experience given the hike in the rice fields and the homestay with a local family and I would do it all over again. However, our tour guide spoke barely any english and we never knew where we are going, what's to be next, why this and that is happening or not happening... we had never been told any history or basically any information we asked....she was a very sweet lady but it was frustrating at times not knowing what's going on. Other than that, great tour!
