2-Day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu with VistadomeTrain

Excellent. A 10 for our guide Amadeo and another for Rodri. It has been a fabulous experience. Amadeo is an expert in archaeology and an excellent guide. We have formed a wonderful group despite being people from different countries. The food was spectacular. Even though the first part was tough due to the climb, the guides maintained a proper pace, making the necessary stops and supporting the group. And of course I recommend this activity, I felt like a VIP visitor.

We had two wonderful days! Our guides were Amadeo and Rodi. We really loved their attitude, the knowledge and sense of humour of Amadeo. The views during the hike were amazing, the food was delicious and the arranged accommodation was also quite nice. I would definitely recommend the trip!

This was hands down the best tour I went on during my three weeks in Peru. The booking process and communication with the agency were both super smooth and easy. They always responded quickly when I reached out to them. We were so lucky to have José as our guide. He made the trip fun and really interesting. He made sure that the walking speed suited everyone in the group and shared lots of interesting facts about the Quechua people, Machu Picchu and the surrounding nature. The breakfasts and lunches served were delicious – a big thank you to the kitchen team. Another advantage of this trip was that we entered Machu Picchu at around 4 pm, after most of the crowds had left. This gave us the chance to take pictures and enjoy the scenery in peace. The hotel and dinner in Aguas Calientes were both good too. I also very much enjoyed the guided tour of Machu Picchu on the second day, when José shared even more information with us. Once again, thank you to José, who went above and beyond to make this trip special for us!

We did the Short Inca Trail with TreXperience and would do it again in a heartbeat. Everything was extremely well organized. The day before the start, we had a short briefing where everything was explained to us again in detail. The entire Inca Trail was then perfectly organized. Our guide José was fantastic. All the way to Machu Picchu, he kept sharing interesting details about the Incas and the Peruvian landscape. The freshly prepared lunch was outstanding. Dinner and the accommodation in Aguas Calientes were great as well. We would do the 2-day, 1-night Short Inca Trail again without hesitation. It lets you experience all the highlights of the Inca Trail in a short amount of time, and in particular, entering through the Sun Gate gives you a truly special first view of Machu Picchu. Another advantage of this tour is arriving at Machu Picchu around 4 pm, when the big crowds have already thinned out. Thanks again to José and the whole team for this unforgettable experience.

The 2-day Inca trail with Trexperience made the planning that much easier. Monica, our guide, with Pedro were encouraging and supportive throughout the trip, especially during the difficult part of the hike. I would highly recommend this tour if you want to hike the last part of the Inca Trail.

The trekking pace was smooth and we had lots of of interesting exchange on Machu Picchu details. The food was cooked and not packed. And we looked together a football game of Cusco team at the diner. This was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had! The tour operator organised everything absolutely perfectly, for our comfort and safety. This was my first time in Peru and the short inca trail made Machu Picchu even better . The food was delicious, transports were easy and comfortable with amazing views of the forest. Our guides were very experienced and helpful with everything and most importantly they had deep knowledge and understanding of the Inca civilisation and culture. Both me and my husband had a fantastic time with our small group. Definitely recommend them to anyone who wishes to experience Machu Picchu combined with a hike.

We booked with TreXperience over other operators in part because of how thorough and professional they were in addressing all our questions and how accommodating they were with our requests. For example, they offer good advice on whether to book Circuit-A Machu Picchu Mountain after already hiking the short Inca Trail, and whether to acclimate to the high altitude in Cusco or Ollantaytambo. Their professional advice can't be easily found via Reddit, Google, or AI.In addition, they offer a custom discount if we are going to skip some parts of the tour. I want to especially thank Gabriel for her attentiveness that ultimately sealed the deal. Renato and Alvaro were our tour guides (short Inca Trail, leaving July 8). There are a few highlights worth mentioning. 1. The lunch on the trail after the initial climb was so amazing. The mango ceviche and trout were as good as any food we had in Peru. I ate so much that I didn't care about walking for another 5 kilometers afterward at all. 2. Renato was helpful in trying to reschedule our train to Ollantaytambo. 3. On the second day, the explanation of Machu Picchu's history under the backdrop of the magnificent mountains and citadel was one of the best learning experiences I had in my life. Thank you, Renato, for the great explanation and tirelessly answering all my questions. 4. In addition to being caring and knowledgeable, your guides, Renato and Alvaro, were seasoned cameramen and saved us amazing memories. 5. In the last lunch together, Renato coordinated with the restaurant to give us a dessert to celebrate our honeymoon, which was a very kind gesture. Another thing we like about the tour is that it is only 2D/1N, so it is family and honeymoon friendly. We were happy we didn't do the full 4D/3N version despite that being apparently the more popular choice. In summary, the tour operator was professional, accommodating, knowledgeable, and caring. The tour was amazing, and we were very glad we did it as part of our honeymoon.
