Starting from your hotel, this walking adventure begins on a most unique discovery & orientation tour ever offered of Paris! It's called your 1st Day in Paris Tour because this 2 hour plus experience focuses on providing you freedom with knowledge of how to do Paris while at the same time you are enjoying as many sights as possible. So much more than just facts & figures, the tour immerses you in to the Paris culture providing the visitor with understanding how things work, how to get around, what areas are safe, buying tickets, riding the buses & metro, protecting yourself from pickpockets, ordering at a café, or a bakery. Of course you get to do amazing sightseeing, find hidden gems, quaint neighbourhoods and pass by the top must-see monuments, museums and parks in all of Paris which may include the Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysées, Montmartre, Louvre, Marais, Opéra, Places, Notre-Dame, Luxembourg Gardens, Montparnasse and more.

If we make it here then we enter the oldest church in Paris. And we pass by the famous café where Emily in Paris and Hemingway have their hot chocolates.
We explore hidden gems that are all about the Latin Quarter. Depending on time we will see the famous cafés of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, its 1000 year old church, medieval streets, and monuments, even a Picasso sculpture.
We stop for a photo opportunity as we walk and traverse Paris' oldest bridge and see all the points that make this area of Paris truly the heart of the city.
We stop for a photo opportunity as we walk from the left bank to the right bank seeing the famous cathedral on the island. When it reopens in a year we will enter it.
Depending on time we visit this neighbourhood from the Palais Royal, quintessential passages, restaurants, all the way up the Avenue to the Opéra Garnier and behind to the facades and the rooftop terraces of the grand department stores of the Le Printemps and the Galeries Lafayette.
The 2 hour Paris Discovery Orientation Tour takes you anywhere you wish to go however the tour may include a visit to Montmartre where we see as much as possible of the area in the time remaining.
We visit the outside of the museum with photo opportunities in front of the glass pyramid and the Tuileries Garden.

This was a great thing to do when we first arrived in Paris. He helped orient us to the metro, bus and subway. We discussed what we were visiting while in town and he helped us figure out all the best routes. We felt really confident the rest of the week navigating the city and meeting all our tour guides. He also told us some of the history of Paris as we walked around.

This helped me with confidence to explore Paris and feel secure about using the Metro. I was introduced to the various sections of Paris, how to use the ubiquitous maps for directions to travel the Metro and a great walk around the area I was staying in, the Marais. Thor was a great guide who showed us some of the many sites in Paris and got us familiar with the metro. He also explained cafe etiquette and some history as well as road rules. Highly recommend Thor and this tour for first timers to Paris!
