Awesome experience! Highly recommend it. Teach you how to make it and then eat it.
Hide was such a wonderful host and teacher. My wife and I learned so much about sushi making, Kyoto, and Japanese culture. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
Hide was an incredible host and picked out a wonderful selection of fish for our sushi making class. I learned a lot about how sushi is made and he answered so many questions for us about Japanese culture and food scene. Would definitely recommend. Hide made our time together very special!
Outstanding experience - we had the chance to learn from a sushi master how to make 3 types of sushi. The ingredients were also all of high quality. Finally we ate all our selfmade sushi and got also very interesting background information about the fish used. At the end we had the chance to taste some sake wine, explained by a sake wine somelier. We definately highly recommend that tour!
We did the Sushi class with Hide. He was very kind and patient with us, explained a lot about the process of making sushi and the products used in our class. A wonderful experience, I highly recommend it to everyone - we also tried making sushi several times at home - turned out we didn’t have much clue about how to properly do it! ;)
Had the best experience with Yone our sushi chef! He was so kind and had everything prepared for us. He taught us good techniques for making both rolls and nigiri. He was so sweet. Highly recommend!
We had a great experience with Hyde, as we learned the way to make sushi & rice. Hyde was patient and the best part was eating what we made. Fingers crossed that we can now make sushi on our own.
My wife and I really enjoyed our sushi making class. It was expensive, but the ingredients for the sushi were high quality and we loved learning how to make sushi at home. The instructors were very knowledgeable and professional.
If you are reading this review, do yourself a favor: stop your search and book this class. My wife and I just went to Japan for our two week honeymoon and our sushi making class with Hide was undoubtedly our favorite part of the trip! Hide and his wife are great chefs, lovely people, and fantastic hosts that epitomize Japanese hospitality. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome for our honeymoon and also accommodated a last minute request to change the date of our class without missing a beat. Not only was the class extremely fun, but the sushi itself was absolutely delicious and some of our favorite from the entire trip. Hide also takes photos for you throughout the class so you can fully take in the experience without needing to feel like you’ve got to capture it yourself. We cannot recommend Hide’s class highly enough!
The experience with HIDE was exceptional. In addition to learning how to make sushi, we also shared a lot about life in Kyoto and Japan. It makes us want to come back and discover other regions and activities in this country.
